MATRICULATION & TCNJ EMAIL WEEK OF MAY 3 • Matriculation triggers the creation of your TCNJ email account and grants the rest of campus (outside of Admissions) access to you as a new student • Your TCNJ email is the College’s official communication method for all students

PLACEMENT TESTING • TCNJ administers placement tests in Second Language, Calculus, and Writing (May 5-25) • All incoming first-year students are required to take the Writing Placement Exam • Results used to complete pre-registration of your fall schedule • The Fall Placement & Assessment Booklet will walk you through the steps to determine which ones you have to complete
FIRST SEMESTER WORKSHEET (FSW) DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JUNE 11 • The core of your enrollment this summer will be the First Semester Worksheet (FSW) • Comprehensive guide that collects your course selections and provides TCNJ with the curricular information needed to build your fall class schedule • Personalized for each major • Includes categories such as: • Major Requirements • First Year Seminar (FYS) • First Year Writing (FYW) • Liberal Learning • Second Language • IDS 102 and FYC 103 Requirements
RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION & HOUSING • First Year Experience (FYE): ABE (Allen, Brewster, Ely), Centennial, Norsworthy, Travers, Wolfe • https://housing.tcnj.edu/residential-facilities/freshman-year-experience/ • Application Opens: Tuesday, May 25 • Deadline to Submit: Tuesday, June 15 • Notification Date: Thursday, July 29 • Access Application Link via your Online Orientation
PRE-ENTRANCE HEALTH FORMS DEADLINE: JULY 15 (EOF: JUNE 1) • Required for ALL students, including those who are commuting to campus • Not completing these requirements by the deadline will result in registration and housing holds placed on your account and late fees • Access forms through online orientation
TCNJ ID CARD • Online process for students to submit a photo for their TCNJ ID Card • Pick Up at Orientation in July (or during move-in) • Roscoe Tip: You need a government issued photo ID to pick up… don’t forget it!

PRE-REGISTRATION • Faculty and staff will be working throughout the month of June to pre- register you for fall classes, guided by major requirements, your responses to the First Semester Worksheet and placement test results (if applicable) • Schedules will be adjusted in early to mid-July for those who took AP exams in May and may receive college credit

FIRST YEAR STUDENT ORIENTATION Part I: Academic Sessions (Virtual) • Department Welcome and Course Adjustments (IF NEEDED) • Will take place between 9:00a-12:00p; attend the appropriate day based on your major • School of Education students attend based on their content area • Monday, July 19: School of Business; School of Nursing, Health & Exercise Science; Center for Student Success (Undeclared- General and Provisional Cohorts) • Tuesday, July 20: School of Education; School of Humanities and Social Sciences • Wednesday, July 21: School of the Arts & Communication; School of Engineering; School of Education (Speech Pathology Majors and Open Option Students • Thursday, July 22: School of Education; School of Science
FIRST YEAR STUDENT ORIENTATION Part II: Optional On-Campus Program • Will take place July 19-22 (Monday-Thursday) between 1:00-4:30p • Students will be able to sign up for a day that works best for their schedule, but should only select one • Does NOT have to be the same day as their virtual academic sessions! • Exact events will depend on state restrictions, but we hope to include as many traditional orientation components as possible (campus tour, resource fair, icebreakers, guest sessions) • More details to come in late May!

MOVE-IN & WELCOME WEEK • Residential Move-In: TBD • Welcome Week 2021 (August 26-30) • Five Days. 100+ mandatory and optional sessions & activities. Consistently ranked as one of their top three favorite TCNJ memories by our upperclassmen, Welcome Week is the true immersion experience for transitioning the newest Lions to our community! • Introduces you to our mission and values as a college, while informing you of the expectations and social responsibilities that come with being a member of a diverse and inclusive campus • Familiarizes you with resources and services on campus and provides endless social opportunities to develop new friendships! • Program is for ALL incoming students, including those who will be commuting to campus. • First Day of Classes: Tuesday, August 31
