The ISWA World Congress is the world‘s most important congress in the field of
waste management. The 29th ISWA World Congress will be held at the Euskalduna
Conference Centre and Concert Hall in Bilbao, Spain, from 7-9 October 2019.
Bilbao is expecting up to 1,200 experts, decision makers and visitors from
around the world. The congress is being organized by ATEGRUS, ISWA National
Member in Spain, in cooperation with the International Solid Waste Association -
ISWA.

WORLD CONGRESS
The ISWA World Congress is a global meeting which includes high level plenaries
as well as technical site visits and a cultural and social programme where waste
management professionals, government officials, industry leaders, policy makers,
scientists and young professionals meet to exchange views and opinions to advance
scientific and technical knowledge for sustainable solid waste management.
Since its beginning, the ISWA World Congress has been considered as the
industry’s leading solid waste management event.
The ISWA World Congress 2019 will be the event’s 29th edition, and it is expected to
attract over 1,200 delegates from across the globe.
The congress will be based on a scientific programme which will be focused
on sustainable waste management, circular economy and resource efficiency,
highlighting the future strategies, new & smart technologies, landfills and closing
dumpsites, waste management in developing countries, waste to energy, waste
reduction, prevention, reuse and recycling, climate change, health, urban mining, the
problem of marine litter, and environmental responsability, among others.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS
ISWA’s declared mission is “To Promote and Develop Sustainable and
Professional Waste Management Worldwide”.
ISWA achieves its mission through:
• Promoting resource efficiency through sustainable production and consumption
• Supporting developing and emerging economies
• Advancement of waste management through education and training
• Promoting appropriate and best available technologies and practices
• Promoting ISWA’s professional qualification programme
ISWA’s vision is an Earth where no waste exists. Waste should be reused and
reduced to a minimum, then collected, recycled and treated properly.
Residual matter should be disposed of in a safely engineered way, ensuring a clean
and healthy environment. All people on earth should have the right to enjoy an
environment with clean air, water, seas and soils. To be able to achieve this, we
need to work together.
One of the cornerstones of ISWA is sharing experience, knowledge and
information within its network of waste professionals. ISWA has amongst its
members an enormous amount of expertise and knowledge on different aspects
of waste management. This know-how covers technical aspects as well as social,
economic and legal aspects.
ISWA members and non-members can participate in this sharing of knowledge and
experience through a number of different activities and products, such as the ISWA
World Congress.

ABOUT THE ORGANISERS
ATEGRUS® is the Spanish Technical Association for Waste Management and
Environment, a non-profit making organization, created in 1974. It is the Spanish
National Member of the International Solid Waste Association, ISWA.
The main objectives of ATEGRUS® are:
• To put together all parties involves in environmental management, in order to
join efforts and criteria
• To establish a joint co-operation among equipment manufacturers, service
companies, engineers and technicians in order to share experience
• To contribute to the progress and update waste management, environmental
and public cleansing techniques
• To stimulate research, statistics, training and public awareness
• To get in contact through co-operation agreements with those organizations
and national and international associations related to the environment.
ATEGRUS® is the only Spanish organization involved in all waste management
systems, urban cleansing and environment. Its members are municipalities,
public institutions, private companies, universities, research centers and technicians
from this sector.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The Congress delegates will include waste professionals, industrialists, policy makers
at all levels from around the globe, top executives and decision makers , researchers
and entrepreneurs, and government personnel specialising in the field of solid waste
management.
The participants will be welcome to share their critical thinking and to discuss creative
ideas on the featured issues of the congress.
For ISWA World Congress 2019, the theme selected by the organisers is Circular
Economy. What are you doing? It is time to interchange ideas among professionals and
to promote a global collaboration in order to achieve a circular and sustainable waste
management.

BILBAO
Bilbao is a cosmopolitan, open, welcoming, lively, elegant and modern city which
brings together features of a unique cultural heritage, with a new aesthetic in which
the avant-garde shares the streets with art to create a new balanced and remarkable
urban landscape. Strategically located in the centre of the Atlantic Corridor, it

11EXHIBITORS`PACKAGE
ISWA 2019 will have an Expo Zone where companies, institutions and organizations
will have their own space to present their products and services to more than 1,200
potential customers, with a high impact due to the high flow of attendees who will
participate. Refreshments and technical poster stations will be positioned within the
hall to encourage delegates to circulate throughout the exhibit stands.
The package has a different price depending on the location of the booth:
PREMIUM LOCATION Reserved to sponsorship packages
SEMI-PREMIUM LOCATION 5.000€ + taxes
REGULAR LOCATION 3.000€ + taxes
RESERVATION OF SPACE
The Organization shall contract at the beginning of June 2019 with the different
exhibitors in order to choose the booth on the definitive Expo Zone map. The order in
order to contact the exhibitors will be given by the category and the date of payment.
The companies which contract their exhibition space after the definitive map has
been published will choose based on the availability.
In any event, the organisation reserves the right to change the designated space for
technical reasons, distribution system or security. In such a situation, the contracting
date criteria will be used for the new allocation of booths.
The exhibitors`package includes the following:
- 50 word exhibitor write-up in the Final Programme Book on USB drive
- Exhibitor Service Manual
- Company logo to appear within the exhibition section on the ISWA World Con-
gress 2019 website
- Two Exhibitor badges per 6sqm stand space. A fixed number of exhibitors per
stand is imposed
- Access to Congress sessions, coffee breaks, lunches and farewell cocktail
- Cleaning of public areas and gangways
- Access to electricity at your exhibition space

THE BOOTHS
Made by modular walls of white melamine, they have a measure of 3x2m (6m2) in-
cluding the following elements:
- Information counter + 2 high stools
- Carpeted floor
- One waste basket
- Bulbs based lighting at 50w/m2
- Single phase plug
- Label of standard typography in the front of the booth
RENTING RAW EXHIBITION SPACE
Exhibitors renting raw exhibition space will be entitled to the same benefits as those
renting the Standard Booths except for the equipment detailed above.
A minimum of 6sqm must be purchased when renting raw exhibition space at ISWA
World Congress 2019. Height restrictions for custom design stands will apply. Custom
design is subject to approval by the Organisers and venue owner.
15GENERAL CONDITIONS
The Terms & Conditions are subject to change without prior notice. The following
Terms and Conditions apply to ALL Sponsorship and Exhibition Packages:
A. BOOKING CONFIRMATION & DELIVERY OF BENEFITS
• All prices listed in this document are in € (euros) and do not include taxes (21%)
• Applications are not considered until receipt of Sponsorship Booking Form by
ISWA 2019 Organization.
• Acceptance of Sponsorship Booking Form will be subject to Organising
Committee’s final approval. The Organising Committee reserves the right to
decline any application.
• The Technical Secretariat will send an invoice to the contact person including the
amount of the 50% non-refundable deposit to be paid by bank transfer no later
than 31 January 2019. Sponsorship Booking Forms received after 1 February 2019
must be accompanied with full payment.
• The Organising Committee and the Organisers will take the upmost care to fulfil
all listed benefits.
• The sponsor is responsible for any displays and banners supplied and erected
at the Congress and must coordinate with the Congress Organisers prior to the
event.
• Inclusion in the Congress printing material may be forfeited if sponsorship is not
paid and has not been received prior to printing deadlines.
• Sponsors are responsible for the security of their own equipment and materials
whilst at the Congress.
• The use of the stand is limited to its titleholder and the space which has been
contracted, without being able to assign its use to third parties or use the
common spaces for informative or promotional activities.
16GENERAL CONDITIONS
B. CANCELLATION POLICY
• If the Sponsorship cannot be resold, the company will be liable to pay 50% of the
total sponsorship fee. This is subject to the cancellation request being received in
writing prior to 1 February 2019.
• Any cancellations received afterwards forfeits 100% of their deposit.
C. FINAL REGULATIONS
In the event of special circumstances or force majeure, the organisation reserves the
right to shorten, extend or delay the Congress without this entitling the exhibitors to
any compensation.
If for any reason of force majeure the Congress cannot be held, the exhibitors will
only be entitled to the refund of the amounts paid, without being entitled to any type
of compensation.
