They sang a Valentine’s message to their wives and girlfriends. You may listen to their magnificent singing by clicking: Facebook 1|Page
Here are the members Brad Novak (tenor) of: 4 morons and a computer Funny, they don’t look like morons to me! Aaron Munson (baritone) Chris Plott (lead) Nick Beaudin (bass) with a solo in our VA Christmas performance in 2019. Nick says in his Facebook introduction of 4 morons and a computer: Happy Valentine's Day to our people: Flannery, Amanda, Michelle, & Jodi From: Nick, Aaron, Brad, & Chris 2|Page
Interview with Nick Beaudin on his new quartet MVEer asks Nick: Why the name 4 morons and a computer? Nick says: Because of being tired after several hours of editing. There is no deep thought in the name. MVEer asks: Tell us how you guys are friends and decided to collaborate? Nick answers: Brad, Aaron, and I have done musical theater together and a pick-up a cappella group. Chris, I have known for 15 years, and hasn’t sung with us before. They are all great friends. There is another reason I wanted to do this. Making this video was as a great tutorial on what I might do for the MVE in the future. MVEer concludes: You know your quartet sounds good when Bryan Ziegler clicks LIKE and says of your post: “SIGN EM UP!! awesome man!!” What’s New with the After Hours Quartet? First enjoy a truly beautiful arrangement by the International Champions After Hours (including our own director, Bryan Ziegler!), before we get to the breaking news. This beautiful a cappella version of Don’t Know Why, originally made famous by Nora Jones, was released on February 10, 2021 by the BHS. Groove to it at: https://youtu.be/qUwea7V-QNQ. 3|Page
Now for the breaking news. On Valentine’s Day, After Hours released: It's You I Like - featuring Ashley Espinoza. We are fully immersed in a mellow jazz Happy-Valentine's-Day-themed song made famous by Mr. Rogers! After Hours collaborates with Ashley Espinoza – who sings in Voctave with Drew Ochoa (check out their inspiring You Will Be Found at https://youtu.be/hwbGSpKy-Ag) and she sings in the Voices of Liberty at Walt Disney World. The combination of Ashley and After Hours warms the heart. Mr. Rogers would definitively approve! Hear it by clicking: Facebook. “Even when you are feeling blue, remember it is you I like,” we are reminded. Arrangement by Bryan Ziegler Mixing and mastering by Tim Beutel and Tim Waurick Video editing by Dan Wessler ■ Fall District Contest – Jim Franklin, Chapter President Good news! Your Board and Pteam are intending on and committed to going to compete at the Fall District Contest and Convention. Plans are being made, with all due consideration for safety and what is best for MVE and our members, to get us prepared for a great contest performance. 4|Page

If you haven't been to a Zoom rehearsal in a while, drop in soon on the new hybrid rehearsal (Zoom + In Person) one of these Mondays and check it out. It will be good to see you. News from Arv Zenk, LOL Events Director Just last week we finalized the contract to hold the Fall District Contest and Convention at the Airport Hilton Hotel in the Twin Cities. It will be held the weekend of October 15 – 16 and this year all of the contest and convention activities will be under one roof. The ballroom is a great venue for our contests, and we are planning to hold an Awards Dinner and Showcase program on Saturday evening with headliner quartets. The Hilton also has great space for us to get together, sing tags, and enjoy each other’s company as we “Roar Back” from this COVID-19 pandemic. And, all rooms are just $85/night, plus tax. So, we hope you decide to stay with us to enjoy the entire weekend. This will be a fun-filled weekend for everyone in every chapter. Whether your chapter chorus or quartet is planning to compete or just get on stage to share a couple of your favorite songs, we want everyone to enjoy this “festival” weekend. It’s a time for us to ring some chords and celebrate singing together again! So, put it on your calendar now. Look for more information in the next Pitch Piper to register for the convention and reserve your room. See you at the Hilton!
