The LORDS Voice Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School Newsletter February 14, 2020 Devotion Thought Term Dates for 2020 The Beatles wrote a song, “All You Need is Love.” Love is a Term 1: Tuesday, January 28 to Friday, April 3 wonderful and complex thing. There are so many ways we Term 2: Monday, April 20 to Friday, June 19 can show our love for friends and family. But what about love Term 3: Monday, July 13 to Friday, September 18 for the stranger? Or someone new to our community? It is a Term 4: Tuesday, October 6 to Friday, December 4 challenge, but a good one to have. We are reminded in the (Year 12 finishes on Friday, November 20) bible the importance of welcoming the stranger. Let that be a Welcome Pastor Geoff and Family call to action for us throughout 2020 and beyond…If not you, then who? Despite threatening weather and high humidity, the installation of Pastor Geoff Johnston went ahead last Sunday with more than 150 Alberton parishioners and members of the LORDS community in attendance. Following the service, guests enjoyed afternoon tea and the opportunity to connect within our community. We wish Pastor Geoff, his wife Kellie and daughter Mia every blessing as they start their service in the Alberton Parish and LORDS Community. This has been a great opportunity to connect with other families and the staff who educate and care for your children. The LORDS Voice Lutheran Ormeau Rivers District School Newsletter Instrumental Program Welcome to the LORDS Instrumental Music Program We offer Individual or Group Music Lessons in the following: The Instrumental Music Program is a co-curricular program • Voice for all students, external to the music curriculum delivered • Piano in the classroom. We believe music enhances the process • Drumkit of learning. Therefore, all students are encouraged to • Strings – Violin, Viola or Cello explore and develop their musical ability through the various • Guitar Instrumental Music opportunities. • Bass Guitar Lessons • Ukulele All students at LORDS are provided the opportunity to • Woodwind explore and develop their musical ability through Individual • Brass or Group Music Lessons with a qualified and experienced Music Tutor. The Individual or Group Music Lessons meet students’ individual musical abilities and needs while motivating them to explore and recognise a variety of musical literature. Tuition fees apply. Complete your details and the relevant tutor will contact you to discuss the program and payment details. Lessons take place during school hours with lesson times published through an online calendar available to students and parents. At the conclusion of each semester, a report will be provided on each student’s progress, including an assessment of performance musicality, technique, knowledge and understanding and behaviour. ho?
