Sequoia Woodturners General Meeting Minutes August 3, 2019 Betty Rodriguez Regional Library 3040 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno 10:00 am Call to Order: President Perry Coy called the meeting to order at 10:00am Guests o David Menke, Dave Damsen ¨ President – Perry Coy Board Announcements: o Perry welcomed the members in attendance and asked guests to introduce themselves. o Vacancies for the club positions were announced/reviewed. Vahan Bagdasarian agreed to take over as Vice President. Bill Regonini volunteered to take over the DVD library. The Club is still looking for someone to take over as Secretary – David Bryant may be interested in taking on the position once he has had more time to recover from surgery. ¨ Secretary’s Report – Craig Gough o General minutes are current; Board minutes are behind but in progress. o Craig reminded all members at the meeting to sign in for show and tell and the Club Challenge. ¨ Refreshments – Norm Gough o The refreshment fund is going well and continues to support itself through member donations. ¨ Club Librarian – Carol Leamy o Carol informed the membership that the DVD library was at the meeting and available for members who wished to check something out. o The Club thanked Carol for the time she has spent as Club Librarian and welcomed Bill Regonini to the position. ¨ Website – Mark Dillon o Mark reported that the website is going well. ¨ Newsletter – Craig Gough o The newsletter continues to go well. ¨ General Announcements o Mark Dillon announced that he is selling off Bill Robinson’s turning tools and supplies to assist the Robinson family. A number of items were up for silent auction at the meeting. Mark reviewed the rules for the auction. Additional items will be auctioned at upcoming Club events. Mark asked members to speak with him if they were interested in purchasing any of Bill’s lathes. o Howard shared that the cane project went well again this year. ¨ Educational Opportunities o Craig Gough gave a brief report on the mug making class held in July at Tulare Western. o George Corder reviewed the tool making class to be held at his shop on August 10th. Members were reminded of the materials they would need to bring and directions were handed out to attendees. ¨ Perry discussed turning bowls from start to finish.
