OIL OF THE CATECHUMENS / ACEITE DE LOS CATECUMENOS The Oil of the Catechumens is used in ceremonies for the baptism of infants and for our adult catechumens. We are invited to reflect on the power of Christ who transforms us into new creatures and sets us free from the power of Satan. Introduction Penitential Rite Lord Jesus, you love your disciples even to the end: Kýrie, eléison. Christ Jesus, you reconcile us to God by your self-giving Christie, eléison. Lord Jesus, you give us an example of serving others: Kýrie, eléison.
Second Reading: (Spanish) 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Gospel Acclamation Gospel John 13:1-15 Homily The Washing of Feet Wash Me Clean RENEWAL OF COMMITMENT TO PRIESTLY SERVICE Cantor: My brother, today we celebrate the memory of the first Eucharist, at which our Lord Jesus Christ shared with his apostles and with you his call to the priestly service of his Church. Now, in the presence of God’s holy people, are you ready to renew your own dedication to Christ as priest of his new covenant? Fr. Pablo’s Response At your ordination you accepted the responsibilities of the priesthood out of love for the Lord Jesus and his Church. Are you resolved to unite yourself more closely to Christ and to try to become more like him by joyfully sacrificing your own pleasure and ambition to bring his peace and love to your brothers and sisters? Fr. Pablo’s Response
RENEWAL OF COMMITMENT TO PRIESTLY SERVICE Cantor: Are you resolved to be faithful minister of the mysteries of God, to celebrate the Eucharist and the other liturgical services with sincere devotion? Are you resolved to imitate Jesus Christ, the head and shepherd of the Church, by teaching the Christian faith without thinking of your own profit, solely for the well- being of the people you were sent to serve? Fr. Pablo’s Response My sisters and brothers let us pray for our priest. Ask the Lord to bless him with the fullness of his love, to help him be faithful minister of Christ the High Priest, so that he will be able to lead us to Him, the fountain of our salvation. All: Lord Jesus Christ, hear us and answer our prayer. Cantor: May the Lord in his love keep us close to him always, and may he bring all his priests and people to eternal life. Amen
Liturgy Of The Eucharist Preparation of the Gifts
Communion Rite Our Father: Recited Lamb of God: Mass of Christ the Savior Communion Song:
Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separat- ed from You. Amen. Transfer of the Holy Eucharist
