Ireland on the way back Latest data from the Department of Finance (September 2014) indicates that: • Activity in the manufacturing sector posted 57.3 in August, up from 55.4 in July and signalling a fifteenth successive monthly improvement • There were1.901 million people in employment in Q2, representing a 1.7% y-o-y increase (31,600)– a seventh consecutive increase
Ireland on the way back Headline retail sales, in volume terms, were up by 8.6% in y-o-y terms in 7/14 Core retail sales were up by 3.1% in y-o-y terms, seasonally adjusted. There were 2,315,700 overseas visits to Ireland during May-Jul 2014, an increase of 11.1% on the same period in 2013. The number of trips to Ireland over the first seven months of 2014 was 4,292,400, an increase of 9.9% over 2013.
