Presidents Report Hello everyone from lockdown. We were sorry to hear of the death of former member Ursla Peters and because of covid couldn’t attend the funeral. Also our thoughts are with Jim & Narrelle , Jim is in Sydney hospital with burns. Narrelle said he is recovering and they hope he’ll be transferred closer to home soon. Also thinking of John Plant who has been getting regular treatments in Wagga We won’t be holding the September meeting but are hopeful for October, I will text (contact) everyone if it is to be cancelled. Stay safe and well Lesley. The Snowy Mountains Car Club was formed in 1970 after the Tumut Car Club had been in recess for several years. Names listed in championship pointscore include a lot of current GAMC members (and a lot deceased) - John Armour, Rod Bawden, Les Brumby, Col Buckley, Keiran Butler, Ron Coulton, Col Coulton, C. Emanuel, Doug Emanuel, John McAlister, Roger McAlister, Peter Meyer, Jim Morton, Brian Murray, Col Ogilvie, Mick Preinberg, John Price, Bernie Sommerfeld, John Whatman. Several members travelled to the Sunraysia 250 rally Mildura with Ron and Col Coulton and Bernie Sommerfeld competing in a Ford Anglia. Support crew included John McAlister and myself. The highlight for me was the trip down in John’s GT Falcon!. Bern Sommerfeld and Ron Coulton Rally start at Hattah Tragedy struck 10/10/1971 with the death of Ron Coulton returning home after a rally in Wagga. Rod Bawden.
wishes to thank the following sponsors for their assistance in the publication of this magazine Last night, I was dreaming I was swimming in an ocean of orange soda . But it was just a Fanta sea. When life gives you melons , you’re dyslexic. The furniture store kept ringing me to come back, but all I wanted was one night stand.
Birthdays - September Marcus Reed Nancye McInerney Karen Noble Peter Amadio Sally Keenan Jim Swansborough Jim Morton Narelle Morton October – Marie Ambrose Gail Perrott Janette Clarke Gaye Feltham Robert Pearce Pam Dick Heather Hubbert Happy Wedding Anniversary to Barry & Shirley Luff and also Ken & Pam Dick . Wishing you all the best on your Special Day . CLUB RUNS/MEETINGS: Please don’t forget when going on a run you need proof of the run/event, so have the magazine with you or access to a digital form. FYI – If you decide to deviate from a route this will need to be logged and recorded as required by the RMS. If your run is NOT gazetted in the Crank Handle (on conditional registration scheme HVS ) you must contact the holder of the day book and give them a record of your intended travels. (On the log book system) you must record your days use in your log book prior to any departure (only 1 entry per day is required) . Failure to comply can result in an embarrassing and expensive situation . Happy & Safe Motoring, STEVEN (Ed). EVENTS COMMITTEE FOR 2021/22 - Lesley & Steven Kell - Phone 0411 154 939 & 0407 771 789 The day book is with Gail Perrott. Please phone 69 483 137. Leave a message if no answer. Thank you. When phoning about an entry for the day book, please supply your Rego. Number as well. Thank you Welfare Report We all hope VP Jim a speedy recovery from the skin grafts and Narelle her sanity through the days to come. Both have now returned home to Gundagai . John Plant has had many trips for consultations and we hope there will be a good outcome. It was sad to hear the passing of one of our elder members Ursula Peters. Who passed away on Tuesday August 10 at her home. A member who had the clubs interest at heart and quite enjoyed reading the magazine to see what we had been up to . Sadly with Covid we were sending our condolences from the club to her daughter. Bob Nicholls has had a burn incident (welding) and we hope it is ok and all the best with a speedy recovery. Wishing all members not feeling 100% ,that your health improves as the weather warms , restrictions ease and we get back to a (new ) normality - Cheers
wishes to thank the following sponsors for their assistance in the publication of this magazine Left pic - Les Kell with daughter Vicki Johnson , the FX was purchased in the early 1960’s from a Mr Campbell who lived two houses up the street. (Tumut) If I owned a delorean I would only drive it from time to time.

Keeping it simple, drive to the Carberry Park for morning tea 10.30 with meeting to follow then Lunch . BYO everything . Please follow all Covid Public Health Rules and Restrictions . After talking with Bill we have been informed ,If in lockdown - Concessional vehicles can only be used with a genuine reason, and the understanding is that the log book is the only way it may be possible . General maintenance is not considered a good enough reason to be out driving . Update with Rego day – At this stage it will go ahead as planned with covid restrictions adhered to on the day at your location. There has been concern raised that it should not be at private residence and timeslots may need to be in place so large numbers ( which does not usually occur )do not gathers in one place. More information closer to the date will allow all to make an informed decision on how to proceed.
