NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2021 THE BUZZ SPECIAL EVENTS: June 4 - Foot Care Nurse - 7th Floor Lounge June 6 - National Health & Fitness Day June 7 - Gardening Club Meeting Meet at 2 PM in the Dining Room to discuss the ongoing projects in our Gardens. June 11 - SHWI Workshop - Healthy Eating for Seniors The SHWI works to teach seniors how to be mindful of OVERVIEW one's diet and eating habits. 2 PM in the Dining Room. May was a busy month, where we enjoyed June 15 - "Elder Abuse Awareness Day" Workshop lengthening days, more visits with friends and Seniors First BC is offering a workshop about Elder families, and the addition of Sunday Orchestra Abuse and how to properly respond. Meet at 1:30 PM in Nights and Games Group. We also discovered the Dining Room, followed by Social Hour. several trivial pursuit experts during a high energy social hour trivia game! June 16 - Welcome Tea & Townhall Meeting Join in this meet and greet to welcome new residents We were pleased to honour the wonderful and gather with the management team for updates. mothers in our lives with a Mother's Day Social. Next year we look forward to friends and June 18 - Father's Day Social Hour families joining us on this special day. We're celebrating Father's Day with a special Social Hour, a themed drink and good food! 3 PM in the Dining Our Multicultural Day was a huge success. Nursing Department Update: Resident Health Questions: Rapid COVID-19 Test Training: For Resident Health-Related Questions: We now have Rapid COVID-19 Tests on site and staff LPN on Shift - 604-340-4111 are trained to administer the test. Chef, you arrived in the midst of a pandemic and took it all in stride. You have pleased our palates, and your great sense of humour has been a delight for residents and staff alike. We will miss you, and sincerely wish you and your family the very best!
Thank You to Our Staff for the Activities Update: New Activities: Wonderful Multicultural Day! Gardening Club - Meet in the Dining Room to discuss updates and make decisions regarding our gardens. Join the group on Monday, June 7th at 2:00 PM in the Dining Room. Games Group - Bring your friends and come play with us. Each Wednesday at 3:30 PM. We need more Cribbage players! Whoever is interested can try their hands at the new China virtual games through our Wii Console! No Fiji Lebanon games group on June 16th (Townhall Meeting). Phillipines Nicaragua Poker Group will start soon! Put your name India down on the sign up sheet at reception! Italy Exercise with Sarah will now take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 AM in the Solarium. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are still taught by Gregory. Special Events: Cheese/Donut Day (June 4th) and Portugal Day (June 11th) will have special treats at Social Hour! On June 15th, we will be watching the workshop presented by the volunteers from Seniors First BC, about "Elder Abuse". On June 18th, we will celebrate Father's Day with a special lunch and a special Social Hour in the afternoon! On June 25th, we will celebrate Pride month with a special Social Hour Party: everything will be rainbow.
