The Academy @ Watford UTC 05 ADMISSIONS INFORMATION 2020-2021 SECONDARY TRANSFER PROCESS INFORMATION FOR PARENTS The Secondary Transfer process is a lengthy and time consuming one for The Academy @ Watford UTC and we would appreciate your help in ensuring that the process runs smoothly and efficiently if you decide to make an application to this school. We seek to limit the amount of telephone contact made during the process in order to allow time for the necessary administration to be carried out efficiently. Once you have submitted your application, we request that you communicate with us, if necessary, in writing or by email. Letters should be addressed to the Admissions Officer at the school. All correspondence will be added to your application file. Any additional communications (including evidence) that you submit after the closing date for applications will be added to your application file, but will not normally be acknowledged. If you require an acknowledgement, please include a stamped addressed envelope or postcard with each communication. It should be noted that such information may only be taken into consideration from the date it is received and may not reach us before decisions have been made regarding the outcome of your application. Any change of address or circumstances relating to the application should be advised to us immediately in writing. Once places have been allocated at the school and parents have been informed of the allocations, we do operate a “Continuing Interest” list. Positions on the Continuing Interest list will be communicated to parents at the time outlined in the Admissions Policy. If you submitted evidence which you would like returned, please arrange to collect it from the school before the end of the Summer Term 2020. Distance measurement to school The distance from the school to an applicant’s home address is calculated using a straight line distance measurement provided by AddressBase Premium.
