2 SITE INFORMATION - LOCATION 2.1 Site location The site is located in the East of Maidenhead, in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire. BRIDGE GARDENS 2 SITE INFORMATION - EXISTING 2.3 Current Uses & Condition BATH ROAD The site comprises three buildings; the main Thames Riviera Hotel building, the Guard House and the Waterside Lodge building. The main hotel features a restaurant/bar function. ROAD BRIDGE Whilst none of the buildings on the site are listed, the main hotel building and the Guard House are considered to be “non-designated heritage assets” and the whole site is located in the Maidenhead Riverside Conservation Area. Site Pedestrian routes Primary traffic routes Entrances Secondary traffic routes Emergency Exit BRIDGE GARDENS 2 SITE INFORMATION - ANALYSIS BATH ROAD 2.6 Boundaries and access ROAD BRIDGE The site is bounded by Bath Road the North, the Thames River to the East, and existing residential properties to the West. The main entrance of the hotel building is located in the centre of the front facade, facing Bath Road. 3 PROPOSAL 3.5 Material Proposal The following new materials are proposed: 1. Glazed balustrade fixed to the existing timber posts with stainless steel clamps. Existing timber posts to be subject to some localised making good. 2. Pattern 10 PPC aluminium bi-fold doors in white. 3. New external doors: half glazed timber door, painted white to match the redecoration of existing. New window: non-bar timber sash window, painted white to match the redecoration of existing. 1.
