We are proud to present the 2021/22 edition of Haman Scandinavia's FIT Brochure. Over the years, summer has always been the most popular
time to explore Scandinavia and the Nordic countries. Now, we see a changing pattern where winter is competing with summer to be the most
popular season to visit the region. What's more, tours are increasingly being requested during autumn and spring - periods where there are fewer
tourists, but the landscapes are breathtakingly beautiful. My personal favourite time to explore the region is autumn: the sparkling colours, the
clear sky, and healthy air combine to make a fantastic experience.

here. It doesn't matter if it's the magic of the Northern Lights or the stunning hikes that drew you to Scandinavia, when you get here, you will easily
find a thousand more reasons to visit again!
BERRY PICKING & NORTHERN LIGHTS IN AUTUMN
Did you know that Autumn is the best season to see the Northern Lights? The nights have come creeping back and winter is not quite there yet, so
you can enjoy the natural phenomenon without having to spend the whole day in darkness! Also, it is less crowded than it is in the dephts of winter
and locals will have more time to engange with you, should you have any questions.
The leaves have already changed colour and illuminate the breathtaking nature in a golden glow. It is truly one of the most stunning seasons to visit
Scandinavia. So if you have the chance, plan your Autumn trip to one of our beautiful countries.
Another great thing about Autumn, is that you can participate in the berry and mushroom picking! Head out there into the wild, and collect
blueberries, chanterelle mushrooms and if you're lucky you might even spot a cloudberry or two.

During the summer months (May to August), the sun does not completely set. This is the famously called the Midnight Sun. It
is a natural phenomenon also known as the Polar day when the sun is fully visible over the horizon at 00:00h. Due to this,
summer days become endless and life slows down.
At the northernmost parts of Finland for example, the sun remains up for 60 days straight. In Svalbard, Norway, there is no
sunset from April 19th to August 23rd, and this is one of the most uninhabited regions in Europe.
The North Cape of Norway is the northernmost point in mainland Europe and the Midnight Sun lasts for 76 days. Also, the
best (and most romantic!) locations to see the "no sunsets" are on the west coast of Norway, in the Arctic Circle.
SPOT THE LOCAL WILDLIFE
Scandinavia is the territory where a number of big majestic beasts live. The indisputable king of the Scandi forest is the
moose, which happily greets respectful hikers in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The same with reindeer, which can be found
eating moss and berries before the winter returns in the far north. They're precious animals to the Sami community.
Around the Dovre National Park in Norway, you can go on a guided hike to spot the magnificent musk ox. This impressive
creature is a symbol of strength for the country. On the other hand, Finland, close to the Russian border, is the perfect
destination to lodge a few nights and wait safely to come across a brown bear.
On the island of Svalbard, taking a boat trip close to the shore can result in the experience of a lifetime, if you're are lucky

Historically, life in the fjord valleys used to be very isolated. That
was until new ways of transportation other than by boat arrived
and with them, visitors interested in the fjord way of living. In the

their own goods and look after their farms to be able to survive,
and this is still the case, most things are still locally sourced and

known place in Denmark, Billund. Billund is home of the famous Legoland: a miniature world
built entirely of Lego. Then continue north-east to Århus, one of the great cities of Jutland
where an open-air museum, Den Gamle By, is located. This museum is devoted to culture and
customs of local people from 1500 until today.

Saimaa. Also you should not miss one of Lappeenranta`s most famous attractions: the sand
castle. A huge sand sculpture located close to the harbor area, which can be visited from June
to August. In the evening we recommend an excursion to the Imatrankoski Rapids close to
Imatra, which have been attracting visitors for over 200 years. Today tourists can admire the
daily rapids shows which are organized every evening during summer (mid-June to mid-
August).
