TERM THREE 2021 DRAMA HELLO FROM THE FUTURE Devised Theatre Project with Ren Williams 8-12 year olds, Wednesdays 4-5.15pm 9 sessions starting Wednesday 28th July 2021 Cost: $170 + $15 Ink Pot membership for newcomers Venue: Mount Barker Town Hall 34-38 Gawler Street Term Bookings: Booking – Ink Pot Arts or quill@inkpot.com.au We’ve fallen in love with tales of futuristic alternate dimensions… but what if we told tales from ourselves if we had the ability to time travel to the future? Will trees still exist? Does the Earth run on purely solar power energy? What new ice-cream flavours have been discovered? This exciting new devising project will encourage students to learn the art of improvisation and ensemble-building skills as well as incorporating interactive media. Led by Ren Williams, weekly classes will delve into students ideas, creative imaginations and tap into their ability to create and play, forming a final performance at the end of the year. Ren Williams is a recent Graduate from the Flinders Drama Centre and is an actor, director and playwright, creating work on Kaurna Yerta. Ren’s work has won awards within the 48 Hour Film Project over the last four years, including ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Actress’. Her play ‘Touch’ won a merit award in the 2020 State Theatre Young Playwrights Competition which will be further developed in 2021. Ren is a proud member of RUMPUS Theatre and MEAA. Auditions for solo and ensemble roles will take place Sunday 25th July 2021, at Ink Pot’s Hub upstairs in the Mt Barker Town Hall. The action-packed rehearsals will develop your performance and ensemble skills while building towards performances during the Adelaide Fringe 2022. Extra rehearsals will take place in a January 2022 intensive. Daniel is a born and bred South Australian, whose work has taken him across Australia. Studying at the Queensland Conservatorium, Daniel received his Bachelors in 2018, before touring Australia with Meerkat Productions, a leading TIE production company, something that had driven Daniels support for children’s access to Musical Theatre. He is a proud supporter of new Australian work, having been a part of workshops for Fangirls (Belvoir/QTC), Genesis by William Hinz, and Saltwater by Susanne Porter. He is a proud MEAA member.

Led by Sally Hardy, Term Three 2021 sees the group diving into an exciting new theatre project Flight Path – an intergenerational journey - bringing together the Affinity cast with Ink Pot’s Acting for Fun members, which will be performed November 2021. Emphasis is on developing confidence, silencing the inner critic and rediscovering the pleasure of play. Sally is a playwright, author and producer whose work has won awards both nationally and internationally. An AWGIE winning playwright, her work has featured in the DreamBIG Children’s Festival, the Come Out Children’s Festival, the World Festival of Children’s Theatre, the Trinity College London International Festival of Playwriting and Performance, and the Adelaide & Melbourne Fringe Festivals. Jen Lush is a multi-disciplinary performing artist and educator who is passionate about delivering high quality arts experiences to people of all ages. With a background in music, dance, and theatre, that has taken Jen across the country and overseas performing and teaching, she is dedicated to making and communicating through the creative arts. Nathan Douglas Day’s initiative aims to provide a welcoming place to come together and share creative writing projects (poetry, stories etc), give and receive feedback, discover new styles and techniques, and be a motivating & encouraging space. Do you have diverse writing interests? No problem, this session offers discussion from many different viewpoints. Don’t know where to start? Learn some tips from fellow adventurers! Nathan Douglas Day is a hills-based published poet (Dip Arts, Creative Writing, Tabor Adelaide) who has diverse artistic pursuits including music, songwriting, woodwork and creative writing. He aims to surprise his readers into laughter through his poetry, focusing more on nonsensical/dreamlike themes to break down what is expected from poetry and poets, but is equally at home with the honing of serious creative expression. Applying a step-by-step approach, Max will develop your ukulele playing & general musicality. Beginners I introduces strumming rhythms, the basic chords & learning to play songs in a group setting. Beginners II will introduce music theory & continue to build on the foundations provided in the first module. Informal performance opportunities will be offered as confidence grows .
TERM THREE 2021 MUSIC & SINGING Intermediate Ukulele Group with Max Tulysewski Teens & Adults, Wednesdays 6-7pm 10 sessions, starting Weds 21st July 2021 Cost: $160.00 + $15 Ink Pot membership Bookings: Booking – Ink Pot Arts This advanced workshop focuses on developing musicality, finger picking & strumming techniques. It will teach you how to integrate barre chords into your songs, extending your musical repertoire. The group gets a huge amount of enjoyment from performing regularly in the community & we warmly welcome newcomers! Max Tulysewski is an Adelaide-based musician, composer, producer & teacher. He first began experimenting with the ukulele in 2011 & has brought it with him into a variety of different musical situations both on stage & in the studio. He is a highly skilled and much-appreciated teacher of uke – come along and get inspired!
