SUMMER 2020 Theatre Schedule June 1-June 5 Half Day: Into the Unknown! Ages: 4-8 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Cost: $125 In this half-day musical adventure, campers will learn the super fun music of FROZEN 2! Campers will learn to tell story through music as they dance and sing their way through the Enchanted Forest! Come get “Lost In The Woods” where “All Is Found” and “Some Things Never Change!” The students will perform their revue Friday at 12:00. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, Cra s, and Team Time! Full Day: Naughty: The Songs of Ma lda Ages: 7-16 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 Have you ever thought “When I Grow Up?...” Well, don’t just think it, come and sing about it! Join us as we learn beau ful music and inven ve choreography from the beau ful, Tony Award winning Ma lda the Musical, based on the children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The musical's narra ve centers on Ma lda, a precocious 5-year-old girl who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher to reclaim her life. This will be high-energy fun for beginners as well as experienced performers! The students will perform their revue Friday evening of camp week. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, and Team Time! _________________________________________________________________________________________________ OAK PARK MALL June 1-June 5 Full Day: Improv Comedy Camp (Beginner to Intermediate) Ages: 9-17 Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 Do you love to act? Do you love to entertain a crowd with your wit and on the spot crea vity? Join us this summer as we team up with our friends from Comedy City and spend a week laughing and sharpening our comedic ming, punch line delivery and overall improvisa on performance skills. Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 If you are a devoted Musical Theatre Enthusiast with any performance experience, this intensive is for you! This will be a week of scene and song work from the best musicals that have ever hit Broadway! Not only will students learn choreography and music, but they will also prepare short scenes with character studies to create an engaging and entertaining showcase performance! The students will perform their showcase Friday evening of camp week. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, and Team Time! ________________________________________________________________________________________________ June 8-June 21 2-Week Musical Intensive: TUCK EVERLASTING **Pending Rights Approval** Ages: 13-20 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Cost: $395 total for 2 weeks Audi on Day and Time: Monday, June 1st: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Please bring 16 measures of a musical theatre song for audi ons. Accompanist provided. Karaoke CD or Sheet Music is allowed (no a cappella audi ons please). Please wear clothes and shoes you feel comfortable moving in. Performances in TCH Purple Studio Theatre: June 19th @ 7pm, June 20th @ 2pm & 7pm, June 21st @ 2pm Ticket Informa on: Each Camper Receives 2 Free Comps. Based on best-selling children’s classic by Natalie Babbi and adapted for the stage by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, Tuck Everlas ng features a soaring score from Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen Cast members will spend each rehearsal day learning songs, choreography and dialogue to perform the en re musical at the end of only 2 weeks! All par cipants will audi on for their role before the intensive begins so they can get a jump-start on memoriza on! As an intensive, students will help design and collect props, costumes, and sets and be a part of the whole process from beginning to end! __________________________________________________________________________________________________ June 8-12 Half Day: The Music of TROLLS! Ages: 4-8 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Come be a part of this fun musical adventure where we “Can’t Stop The Feeling” and always “Get Back Up Again!” The students will perform their revue Friday at 12:00. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, Cra s, and Team Time! __________________________________________________________________________________________________ OAK PARK MALL June 15- June 19 Half Day: The Music of Moana Ages: 4-6 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Cost: $125 In this half-day musical adventure, campers will learn incredible music with contribu ons by the Tony award winning ar st Lin-Manuel Miranda. Campers will learn to tell story through music as they dance and sing their way through the Polynesian Islands. Come be a part of this fun musical adventure where everyone gets to see the ocean and “come back to the water!” The students will perform their revue Friday at noon. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, Cra s, and Team Time! ________________________________________________________________________________________________ June 16-June 25 Summer Intro to Ac ng – Session 1 (6 classes) Ages: 9-16 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Cost: $99 Join us for our summer intro to ac ng classes and get a taste of our Ac ng 1 class material which focuses on the fundamentals of ac ng. Students will learn stage terminology and basic ac ng principles such as stage direc ons and blocking. Class will focus on explora on of the voice and body to help the student be er understand his/her ac ng instrument. There will be a short class showcase at the end of the final class! ________________________________________________________________________________________________ June 22-June 26 Full Day: Reflec on: The Music of Mulan! Ages: 7-16 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 Help bring honor to us all this summer in a musical theatre camp of epic ac on propor ons! Students will join Mulan and the Imperial army in singing, dancing and figh ng their way through a week of fun. Campers will learn songs such as “Reflec on,” “A Girl Worth Figh ng For” and “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” along with learning choreography and combat, which would put even the HUNS to shame. The week culminates with a song and dance performance Friday evening of camp week. Other ac vi es include Theatre

Ages: 12-18 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 Are you interested in audi oning for the NEW TCH Performance Group, OVERTURE ENSEMBLE? If so, this intensive is for you! This project is something we have had in our hearts to put together for a long me and we are so excited to finally get started! OVERTURE ENSEMBLE will be an elite song and dance audi on only performance group represen ng TCH to our wider community. The group will perform at various events around KC and will rehearse on a weekly basis through the school year. This intensive will be a small taste of the kinds of things that will be performed. Learn how to work with a group to put together show stopping song and dance numbers with high performance quality and ght choreography! *Par cipa ng in this intensive cons tutes an OVERTURE ENSEMBLE audi on. All of the characters we've come to love through the stories of Hugh Lo ing and the magical movie musical are given new life in the stage version. The musical tells the classic tale of a wacky, but kind, doctor who can talk to animals, taking the audience on a journey from the small English village of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh to the far corners of the world. When Doctor Doli le a empts to help a seal named Sophie, he’s wrongly accused of murder and stands trial before General Bellowes. Once pronounced innocent, Doli le is free to con nue with his search for the Great Pink Sea Snail — the oldest and wisest of the creatures on earth. All par cipants will audi on for their role before camp begins so they can get a jump start on memoriza on! Be a part of this unique cast experience and learn how a whole show can come together in only 2 weeks! Ages: 9-17 Monday – Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 WANTED! Dancers, Acrobats, Singers and Freaks of all shapes and sizes! Do you have a MILLION DREAMS? Are you ready to REWRITE THE STARS? We are! Now is the me to COME ALIVE and put on the greatest show in just one week! Join us as we hit the ring with all of the flash and excitement of the circus! There will not be a dull moment during this week of high-energy story telling, fast paced choreography, and incredible music! The students will perform their showcase Friday evening of camp week. Other ac vi es include Theatre Games, and Team Time! __________________________________________________________________________________________________ OAK PARK MALL July 6-10 Full Day: Ac ng/Direc ng Intensive Ages: 12-17 Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: $190 Do you love to act? Do you have a hunch that you might make a great director? Join us for this week long intensive as we discover the ins and outs of direc ng and being directed! Students will each be responsible for a direc ng project as well as ac ng in a peer directed scene. Blocking, stage balance, specific and construc ve cri que, clear communica on and stage presence are just a few of the skills that will be taught. Direc ng is a difficult and incredibly rewarding skill and every serious theatre student should gain direc ng experience for a well-rounded theatre educa on! __________________________________________________________________________________________________ July 7-July 16 Summer Intro to Ac ng – Session 2 (6 classes)
