SYLLABUS OF CLASS : V (2020-21)
a) English Tasks included in all the sections (Writing & Grammar) should be covered in the class simultaneously along with the topics. Phonics, speaking in English and use of dictionary is a must. CD should be played regularly. Every difficult words should be underlined in the book. Teachers should lay stress on vocabulary, part of speech, sentence making and sentence structure. b) Hindi Lessons should be taught with the help of CD. Poems should be read with proper expressions. Teachers should lay stress on vocabulary, Dictation, Word meanings, Part of Speech, Sentence making and sentence structure. c) Mathematics Fundamental concepts should be clear to students. Basic formulas related to topic should be explained and written in the note book before starting the exercise., Lay stress on proper use of Geometrical instruments. Maths Lab activities are mentioned at the end of every lesson. d) Social studies Aims and objectives of the lesson should be written in notebook. Learning process will be made easy by using web charts, flow charts, diagrams etc. Important dates and events should be given in a table format. After completion of chapter, students will do the question answers related to chapters in note books in the class room. Map Book will be done simultaneously after each chapter. e) Science Activity/Pratical given in the syllabus will be conducted in the classroom/Science Lab for each and every chapter.Give more stress on diagrams, definitions, important terms, web charts and flow charts.
Instructions for Assessment 1. There will be two terms –Term I and Term ll ,the students has to clear both the terms to be promoted to the next class. 2. Term I includes Cycle Test 1, Revision Class Test and Mid Term Examination. 3. Term ll includes Cycle Test 2 and Final Examination. 4 Students are not allowed to take leave on the day of any examination as Re-Test will not be conducted. (Unless any medical reason). 5. Notebook Maintenance : a)The marks of notebook maintenance will be given before Mid Term and final exam.(Weightage - 5% for each term) 6. Subject Activity: a) Subject Activity will be conducted before mid term and final exam. (Weightage - 5% for each term) b) It comprises of various techniques like Reading/Dictation/Debate/Public speaking etc. for language and Lab activity/Project/Map - Work/Model Making / Field Trip etc for other subjects.
