Our 7th Annual Golf Challenge, will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at El Caballero Country Club.
Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration is planning a fun-filled day of golf, games, prizes, food and
philanthropy!
We are excited to honor Jeremy Poincenot, a professional inspirational speaker and blind golf champion.
Jeremy became legally blind at 19 due to a rare hereditary disease - LHON. At 20 years old and with his Dad
as his guide, Jeremy competed in and won the 2010 World Blind Golf Championship with a dramatic chip-in
in a playoff. They have since gone on to win 8 National Championships, an Australian Blind Open, and two
more World Blind Golf Championships. In 2011, Jeremy was honored as the San Diego Hall of Champions
Challenged Athlete of the Year. Like all things, it’s the most difficult trials that shape who we are—and
Jeremy is a better athlete and person because of this sport. Jeremy will inspire you at one of our par 5 holes
and, with your guidance, drive for you.

About Us
Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration is an international non-profit
based in Los Angeles, California. Our mission is to foster social inclusion for
children with disabilities through inclusive playgrounds and educational programs.
Funds raised from the golf challenge will support the costs associated with our three
signature programs. Through our My Playground® catalyst program, we have opened
73 inclusive playgrounds in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Israel, Russia, and Ecuador. Our community
outreach program, My PlayClub®, and education program, Together, We Are Able®, have reached over
45,000 children and their families. Our programs teach compassion and acceptance towards people with
disabilities. Together with your help, we will have the ability to reach even more children and families.
About the Course
El Caballero Country Club is the new site for our golf tournament in 2020. Recognized as the “Finest
course in the Valley” by LA Magazine, El Caballero has hosted numerous US Open qualifying rounds, and
three LPGA events. Designed by the acclaimed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., this challenging
track boasts many of his signature elements—tight fairways, gentle doglegs and daunting green-side
bunkering on a layout that winds through gentle hills and mature trees. Players of all abilities find both
challenge and reward on this scenic layout. El Caballero’s meticulous course conditions, excellent caddies
and an all grass practice facility ensure a memorable experience in each round. Players will have full access
to the clubhouse facilities, including showers, sauna, pool, and their mango-scented towels.
