Day Trips 608.204.3021 DAY TRIPS LEGENDS OF LAMBEAU Become a part of the greatest story in sports! Join us for an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of Lambeau Field as we dig deep into the rich history of the Green Bay Packers. View the stadium and the surrounding area from the highest point in Brown County, walk out the same tunnel that the Green Bay Packers use on gameday! Enjoy a Lambeau Tradition lunch buffet that includes brats, hamburgers, chips, potato salad and cookies (vegetarian /vegan options upon request). After lunch, explore the 15,000 square foot museum at your own pace, seeing firsthand the rich, 103 year history of the Green Bay Packers. Complete your experience with a guided tour that takes you on a journey around the city revealing the Packers’ deep ties throughout the Green Bay community, stopping at churches, birth spots and homes of Packer legends among many other iconic landmarks. Registration deadline is March 31, 2023. BURGERS & CUSTARD CAPITAL OF THE WORLD Join us as we team up with Milwaukee Food Tours for the Burgers & Custard Capital of the World Food and History Tour. Start the day at the Milwaukee County Historical Society in the historic Brewers Bank building and learn about its role in popular television shows and films. Explore the exhibits, gift shop and even purchase a beer to enjoy, too (The legends - Pabst, Blatz, Schlitz or a Miller). Take a short stroll and give two thumbs up with a visit and photo opportunity with Fonzie along the Milwaukee RiverWalk. Enjoy a hamburger and fries lunch at a classic Milwaukee diner, Miss Katie’s. Delve into a custard crawl with stops at two historic custard stands, Leon’s Frozen Custard and, the oldest in Wisconsin, Gilles Frozen Custard Stand. Fee covers narrated, guided city tour, lunch, custard and motorcoach transportation. Tour includes minimal walking; must be able to enter / exit the bus multiple times during the day. 608.204.4581 Adapted Recreation Open to individuals with disabilities ages 18+ and their caregivers, families, friends. Participants 14+ may register if accompanied by a participating caregiver and/or adult. Caregivers/adults must stay with the 14+ participants at all times during program. All participants in Adapted programs including caregivers need to register individually. Fees for caregivers/adults are waived. CHAIR EXERCISE Increase your range of motion through stretching and strength exercises. Participate either sitting or standing, exercises are adapted as needed. Skip 7/5. CITY CLUB Meet new friends while enjoying arts & crafts, fitness, field trips and other fun and engaging activities. Skip 7/4 & 7/6. DANCE AND MOVE Low impact class using music and basic steps for great cardiovascular and muscle toning workout. All fitness levels welcome. Staff supervision starts and ends at the time of program. Skip 7/3 & 7/4. WATER WALKING PADDLING Class designed for individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. No previous experience in a canoe or kayak needed! Participants are Exercise on an individual basis with MSCR-provided staff support, or scheduled for a one hour time block after the participant profile is completed supported by family/caregiver. Youth Arts & Enrichment 608.204.3021 Indoor Classes These classes are Child + Adult. Only registered child and one participating adult may attend these classes. For everyone’s safety and the quality of classes, siblings, including infants and/or friends are not allowed to attend classes, be in the classroom or left unattended in a building at any time. Register child only; only one adult may attend. ART EXPLORATION - CHILD + ADULT In this art class for little ones, children have fun with some new art techniques and some old ones - such as painting, pasting and construction. Each participant is encouraged to engage at his or her own level - from playing with new materials to creating an art treasure to take home. NEBULA IN A JAR - CHILD + ADULT Have you ever dreamed of holding a piece of outer space in your hands? In this class, participants create a nebula in a jar so they can do just that! What’s a nebula? A nebula is a cloud of gas and dust in outer space, visible in the night sky either as an indistinct bright patch or as a dark silhouette against other luminous matter. This is a great sensory jar craft that’s not only fun to make, but fun to look at! All materials provided. PROCESS ART - CHILD + ADULT Process Art is about the practice of making art, not the final product. Participants have the freedom to explore new materials, ask questions and see CHILD + ADULT & PRESCHOOL CLASSES how things work. This artistic philosophy sets the foundation for independent, self-directed creativity by encouraging participants to be themselves, make ITTY BITTY BROADWAY their own decisions and just create! ACTING Acting is for beginning actors. Learn voice/movement exercises, theatre games, role preparation, communication skills and team building. Build confidence and self-esteem, and get experience in story theater, creating characters, rehearsing and putting a final performance together. CARDMAKING Create unique, handmade greeting cards. Skip 7/4. BATON - BEGINNING Try your hand at baton twirling. Start with the basics of developing correct technique, hand-eye coordination, learning new tricks and having fun through creative movement. Baton included in fee. Class will perform in the Sun Prairie Corn Fest Parade on 8/16. Skip 7/3. BATON - CONTINUING Continue developing skills and mastering tricks learned in past baton twirling classes. Patrons are allowed to bring bags and towels to the spectator area. MSCR and the City of Madison are not responsible for any lost or damaged items. BEFORE YOU SWIM Showers must be taken before swimming and long hair must be restrained. Lockers are available. Men’s, women’s and all-gender restrooms are available for changing after lessons. MSCR affirms the right of individuals to use facilities that align with their gender identity. POOL INFORMATION In the event that a class is canceled, participants are compensated accordingly.
