There were many highlights during the year. On the field, the Northbridge Football Club continued their love affair with the State Cup pulling off another two victories in the G16 and MAA competitions. Our Tier One MAA and WAA competitions had their most exciting finish in years with West Pymble and Northbridge the respective winners. Many other competitions went down to the wire. Our Summer Football competition has grown by 30% year on year proving that our participation rates continue to dominate the Australian sporting landscape. Off the field there were also exciting developments. This year we hired Ed Ferguson to take on the role of Community Football Manager. In less than twelve months he developed a coach support program called INSPIRE that finished the year with 250 NSFA community coaches as members. He has also been instrumental in creating a player development program called XLR8 that is progressively being offered to NSFA clubs to ensure all players have access to high quality and professional coaches. The NSFA Board set about creating a strategic framework to guide the association over the next three years the “Four Pillars of Success” To top it all off September saw the NSFA provide absolute clarity about what is important to the association launch its inaugural Skellern Cup, a between now and 2020.
