I attempted to recreate this sonic experience visually through use of 3D and double exposure effects. I hope my art will take the viewer on a journey just like the music does. Streets Alive-2021: Hippie Vans Self-Guided Tour Frances Potts franniepotts.ca The Melody of Metamorphosis My design was inspired by feelings that arise while listening to music at Mariposa. Streets Alive-2021: Hippie Vans Self-Guided Tour Jamie Haffenden The Boogie Van This van is heavily inspired by 60’s and 70’s choppers and boogie vans. I’ve taken the paint work I’ve been doing on motorcycles the last few years and applied it to my hippie van, starting with a heavy silver metal flake as the base, then layering kandy patterns over top, finally burying it all in House of Kolor show clear. Streets Alive-2021: Hippie Vans Self-Guided Tour BACK TO TOP [Cntrl+click] Ron Schell Grandma & Grampa, 1968 I did a hippie van selfie station for the 2018 Mariposa Folk Festival that was bright and cheerful so when it came time for the 60th Anniversary of the Festival and the Streets Alive theme was hippie vans, no one was happier to partake than I. Not only was I making the metal vans but had to dial in my painting style to make good of the rough sketch! Best part was channeling my memories of seeing such colorful types around. Great influences from that whole era! (Sponsor: Mariposa Folk BACK TO TOP [Cntrl+click] Samantha Vessios @vessios Driftin’ Split between two worlds, this van represents my love for local and wanderlust. The dark side honours our region’s Muskoka blues, rich woods and homegrown plants. The lighter side illustrates warmer regions, distressed by the elements, holding sun-tolerant succulents. 70% of the materials were reused/recycled. (Sponsor: Clive Algie) BACK TO TOP [Cntrl+click]
