STRATEGIC PLAN 2021/22 CONTENTS Our Vision, Values and Mission is WHY we do things. This Strategic 4. Our Values plan is HOW we will do it. WHAT we will do is delivered via our 6. OUR VALUES We always support and respond to the needs and desires of our ever changing membership, ensuring members views can be represented MEMBERSHIP DRIVEN and listened to through our wide and democratically robust representative structures. We are passionate about our purpose and passionate about our members and we are always looking to improve and make every AMBITIOUS effort to be the best that we can be, and will always look at how we can create and drive opportunities for our members to be the same. We help our members have the confidence and tools to drive their own EMPOWERING agenda, challenge themselves and others and take responsibility and accountability in equal measure. We provide a welcoming, safe and friendly environment for all, actively taking positive interventions to drive equality and remove barriers to ACCESSIBLE inclusion, but above all treat everyone with respect, compassion, and friendliness. We are honest, open, accountable and always aim to do the right INTEGRITY thing for the right reasons. This year, our sabbatical officers have worked together to come up with 5 key aims which they’d like to work on during their year together in order to ensure you have the best student experience possible. They will be supported by our staff to achieve these aims, which are: OFFICER TEAM ORGANISATIONAL KEY AIMS FOR 2021 -22 ACCESSIBILITY: We will work with the University, all student support services and our student led groups to make Brunel a more accessible, flexible and inclusive place for all. CLIMATE EMERGENCY: Kulvant Singh Connie Fernandes We will work Independently, with the University and with external President VP Student Activities stakeholders to do as much as we can to reduce our carbon footprint and empower our students to fight climate change. MENTAL HEALTH: We will continually push for a wider range of high-quality mental health and wellbeing services at Brunel and to ensure all students know about what is available to them. Noah Yeates Niamh Coyle VALUE FOR MONEY: VP CDEPS VP CHMLS We will work within our own activities and with the University to ensure that regardless of circumstances, all students are receiving a high-quality and value for money university experience. REVITALISE OUR ACADEMIC AND CAMPUS COMMUNITY: We will work tirelessly with all stakeholders to bounce back from a Covid on-line experience and ensure that our members Archan Raval have a welcoming, thriving, vibrant, challenging and fun VP CBASS campus environment to return to and enjoy throughout 2021/22, and are prepared with the skills and opportunities to fully re-engage with on campus learning. How will demonstrate INTEGRITY? Our services will be legally compliant with solid governance and always aim to employ best practice. We will make decisions based on evidence, student opinion and always in the best interests of the Members, the Union and the University in that order. We will reduce bureaucracy, communicate decisions with clear language and always tell our members WHY we have come to the conclusions we have.
