St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is a four-year, co-educational, college preparatory Catholic high school. In 1972, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School was formed when St. Vincent High School (1906) and St. Mary High School (1897) merged, combining longstanding traditions to create a rich heritage for STVM. When you choose St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, you are joining a family who will guide you in learning, growing and being your best. STVM provides you with a strong academic foundation that will ensure success through college, throughout your career and beyond. STVM is governed by our Board of Trustees, in cooperation with the administrative team, faculty, parents, and support organizations and operates with the blessing and guidance of the Diocese of Cleveland. We meet all standards of the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association, AdvancED/North Central Association of Schools and Colleges and the Ohio Department of Education. STVM is the only STEM-designated Catholic high school in Ohio. In June 2017, the Marianist Province of the United States welcomed STVM as a Marianist-sponsored school. Aligning with the mission of STVM, the Marianists are focused on community building, social justice outreach and diversity. In the spirit of the Gospel, we are committed to educate the whole person; to lead and to serve, enlightening the mind, developing the body, touching the heart and inspiring the soul. In June 2017, the Marianist Province of the United WORSHIP States officially announced its sponsorship of St. Vincent- • Faculty and students celebrate all school Mass St. Mary High School, uniting us with a network of three monthly and on Holy Days of Obligation universities, 18 secondary and middle schools, six parishes • Mass is offered weekly in the STVM chapel before school and four retreat centers. The lived reality of Marianist • The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered throughout spirituality, springing from the foundational charism of the year William Joseph Chaminade, is to: • Many students and faculty gather for Mass on Friday • Educate for formation in faith mornings at St. Vincent de Paul Church • Provide an integral, quality education • Educate in family spirit PEER MINISTRY • Educate for service, justice and peace Junior and senior students have the opportunity to lead • Educate for adaptation and change campus ministry activities including: • Retreat planning and facilitation SERVICE • Assisting freshmen on their first day of school All students are required to accumulate 100 hours (Big Sibling program) of Christian Service by the end of their senior year. • Coordinating service activities Students may seek out their own service projects or attend school-sponsored opportunities, such as joining a RETREATS monthly visit to the Haven of Rest. Students are encouraged to explore and strengthen their faith through our retreat programs, including: Beyond service hours, students also give back to the • Grade-level focused “Day of Reflection” community by participating in our annual Adopt-a- • Overnight retreat for junior students, held at Family Christmas project, canned food and book drives, Loyola Retreat House mission trips, and much more. • Kairos retreats, a special program designed to spiritually prepare senior students for life after graduation • Fall Nature Hike retreats open to all students

Twenty-first century learning is the focus of STVM’s STVM is the only high school in Ohio to have a academic program. Our teachers set college-ready Model United Nations Team named to the top 50 in expectations for students to equip them with college-ready the country skills. We are proud to announce that as of June 2017, Rocket Team placed 13th (out of 100 schools) in STVM is the only STEM Catholic high school in Ohio. the nation at the Team America Rocketry Challenge Our goal is to inspire students to think creatively, reason (TARC) in Virginia; 2 of the 6 teams from Ohio were systematically, and work collaboratively in a welcoming, STVM teams challenging environment. The Guidance office at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is committed to meeting the unique intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of each student. We have a dedicated team of three licensed school counselors, two licensed college counselors and six tutors, all with years of teaching experience in the field they tutor. We also have a speech therapist who services qualified students once a week. The STVM Guidance office hosts two unique annual events in the fall semester that are key to preparing our students for success after graduation: • At the STVM College Fair, students of all grade levels can visit with admissions representatives from over 100 colleges and universities. • At the STVM Career Connections event, students of all grade levels can visit with over 115 professionals from industries including healthcare, engineering, education, finance, government/law and much more. HOW TO APPLY Application Process for Catholic School Students In mid-January 2019, Catholic school students will receive the Diocesan CHAMPIONS OF application from their 8th grade teacher. Christian Service CHAMPIONS OF Complete the application and return to your 8th grade teacher with STVM as Learning your first choice. Only your first-choice Catholic high school will receive your records. Acceptance letters will be mailed in mid-February 2019. CHAMPIONS OF Application Process for Public/Private School Students Innovation Students who attend a non-Catholic school will receive a STVM application through the mail with the results from CHAMPIONS OF your STVM Scholarship/Placement Test. Spirit Complete the application and return to STVM by December 3, 2018. We will request your school records upon receipt of your application. Acceptance letters will be mailed in February 2019.
