Hold and Secure Due to an RCMP incident SES was directed by the RCMP to do a Hold and Secure last week. Hold and Secure is used if there is a security concern in the neighbourhood. We bring everyone into the school and remain inside. We secure exterior doors and close exterior window blinds. No one ma enter or exit the school during the Hold and Secure. Typically, normal activities continue within the school, which was the case with this incident. The admin team is responsible for making sure that everyone is in the school and safe. Once we are sure this is the case, we then send out an email to all parents. In this case, as we were writing the email, we were told that the incident was over. We do know that some students texted parents what was happening and then it got posted to social media, which caused a urry of phone calls into the o ce. Although we understand the concern that parents have, it is imperative that we have access to our phone lines so we can stay updated with police. Please note that for any emergency, we will contact parents as soon as we can with updates around what is taking place. We will also allow students to text families when it is safe to do so. Thanks for your understanding. Talent Show Thank you to all those families that submitted videos of their amazing children doing very talented things! Some of the talents include: swimming, singing, dancing, lego building, martial arts, bike riding, golf, and so much more! Although we love our live talent shows, having the videos sent it, opens up the talent that can be shared. I think the video option for the talent show is something that we will continue to do. Students will be watching the talent show at 11:00 on Friday.
