Youth Spring Musical: 101 Dalmatians Location: Katy Cavins Community Center - Assembly Room Date: Wed, January 19, 2022 - Wed, March 16, 2022 Time: 5pm-6:30pm Ages: At least 5 but less than 16 Barcode: 9390 Based on the classic animated film, Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS is a fur-raising adventure featuring Cruella De Vil, Disney’s most outrageous villain, and 101 of the most adorable heroes to set their paws onstage. Auditions are Wednesday, January 19th from 5-6pm. Once your child has audition, you are free to leave for that day. Rehearsal: Will start the following week January 26th-March 16 5-6pm.The final performance will be Wednesday, March 16 at 6:15pmEveryone that auditions get cast! There are no refunds once auditions are complete. Auditions/Practices may take place in-person or virtually, depending on state guidelines at the time. Micro Markets are an abbreviated version of the regular season Vine Street Market. They will be held March 12th and 26th, and April 9th and April 30th, from 9AM to noon. These markets are mostly indoors and only consist of smaller groups of vendors. In April we will expand to include vendors indoors and out. Fencing is a classical sport that combines quick thinking and athletic movements to help build fitness, balance, coordination, discipline, and sportsmanship. While fencing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, fencers come in all shapes, sizes, and age groups. Physical strength and size are not major factors. Classes consist of stretching and fencing exercises, followed by footwork, blade work and practice bouting. All fencing equipment is provided. Builds on the foundation established in the Beginner Fencing class. While emphasis is placed on the continued development of previously learned skills, new techniques and movements will be taught and the tactical aspects of competitive bouting are introduced. Classes consist of stretching, footwork, drills and bouting. All fencing equipment is provided. Hong Martial Arts - Karate/TKD/Jiu Jitsu Location: Katy Cavins Community Center - Lower Level | Fee: $175.00 (3 Month), $300 (6 Month), $500 (1 Year) Time: 5:45pm-6:45pm | Ages: 6 and up Instructor: Master Hong This Martial Arts program has been designed and is taught by the Hong brothers, two master black belt instructors. The Hong brothers have a combined teaching experience of over 30 years. They have altered the traditional training methods and practice a combination of martial arts including Karate, Tae Kwon Do and basic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Hobbies & Interests: Youth 2nd Annual LEGO Build Off Location: Katy Cavins Community Center Fee: $15.00 Dates: Fri, February 4, 2022 - Fri, February 25, 2022 Ages: At least 6 but less than 17 Barcode: 9337 Based on the wildly popular TV show Lego Masters, we are bringing back our hit Lego Build Off! Each Monday of the competition your child will receive a new theme that they will build on. Creations must then be delivered to the Katy Cavins Community Center by each Friday. They will then be on display for judging over the weekend. Then on following Monday, new build themes will be released, and you’ll be able to pick up your child’s creation. That way you can use pieces for the next build. Prizes will be awarded to the best of each week, and there will be a prize for the grand champion! Participants must have their own Lego blocks to create with. Creations must also be designed by the builder, and not from Lego kit. Nerf Night Location: Katy Cavins Community Center – Assembly Room Fee: $10.00 | Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm Ages: At least 7 but less than 13 Nerf Night is Back! Come to the Katy Cavins Community Center for a night of action- packed fun. Nerf Night will feature several mini games such as capture the flag and other favorites. Players will be divided into groups according to age. Pizza and lemonade will be provided. Bring protective eye wear and your own Nerf guns/darts. Mind & Body: Adult King & Queen 30-Day Wellness Challenge Fee: $20.00 Date: Mon, January 3, 2022 - Mon, February 7, 2022 Ages: 18 and up | Barcode: 9442 Do you have a King or Queen inside you? Start the new year on the right track with the Kings & Queens 30 Day Wellness Challenge. There are ten categories that are designed to lead you into a healthier lifestyle. You can get a max of 10 points per day from each category. Depending on how many points you earn after 30 days you will be given one of the following titles: King/Queen, Noble, Lord, Knights, Merchants, or a Peasant. We will send you a form to track your progress and we will touch base every Monday. On top of that you will be emailed a weekly motivational quote. All participants will receive a t-shirt. There is a special reward for anyone who manages to get enough points to become a King or Queen. Yoga Classes with Moonbird Yoga Yoga will be back in the spring of 2022. The Nimble & Quick 8-week class for families with children ages 1-4 is based on nursery rhymes, the beloved poems and chants handed down from generation to generation! Songs of contrasting tonalities, moods, and meters are included in every class, as are songs from other cultures. We do finger plays, wiggling and tickling activities, body awareness songs and bouncing songs to experience the joy of playing together! Activities also include singing, dancing, focused listening, and simple instrument playing. Dancing with scarves and hiding games are part of the fun! Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Swimming on the back is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used. 3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. - Surface dive, feet-first or head- first, to a depth of at least 7 to retrieve a 10-pound object. - Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates may not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. 12

This program is more advanced and is designed to help golfers to learn more subtle parts of the game, course management, advanced short game and wedge play. Sports / Early Childhood: Mighty Ball T-Ball Location: Community Park Fee: Resident $50, Non-resident $60 Date: June 4th – July 16th (No session July 2nd ) Time: 9am – 10am 3yr Old’s – Barcode: 9460 4/5yr Old’s – Barcode: 9461 Mighty Ball T-Ball is a non-competitive, safe approach to teaching the game of T-Ball to preschool aged children. Teams will have six sessions, lasting sixty minutes each. Each team will practice for the first 30 minutes, and then will bat and field against another team for remaining allotted time. All players will receive a team shirt and hat. Players will need their own glove. There will be a Meet and Greet on Friday, June 3 from 6:00pm - 6:45pm in the Katy Cavins Community Center. This will be your opportunity to meet your child’s coach and pick up their hat and shirt.
