When Chandra Grover and her choir of children, called Tutti Frutti Voices, performed their first song 'Bessie The Black Cat' in front of family and friends at The Orwell Hotel in December 2008, she would never have guessed that in 10 years time the choir would have developed into Felixstowe Harmonies and she would be directing them in singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Tutti Frutti Voices developed into a mix of 36 children, parents and friends, able to sing three part harmonies and rebranded as Felixstowe Harmonies. In 2010, Felixstowe Harmonies took part in The Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts and in the 2010 Felixstowe Carnival. In 2011 they performed in a joint concert with the choir, Variations, at The SCHOOL Pay & Play 9 Hole se Conservative Club. Over the next three years the choir took part in various HOLIDAY Kingsfleet Cour events including The Monster Mash at St Thomas Theatre at Kesgrave High School and now hold regular concerts, mostly in aid of local charities. 10 Local News Awards for Felixstowe Rugby Club Felixstowe Rugby is celebrating winning two prestigious awards, Gareth Carr won ‘Coach of the Year’ in recognition of the improvements collecting the ‘Club of the Year’ award and ‘Coach of the Year’ award for that the senior men’s team achieved this season. Plans and funds are nearly complete in order to erect new floodlights on the senior pitch.
