Sophomore Keagan Cobble joins Long and Lauth in addition to the freshman trio of Jordan Rabbitt, Garrett Crosby and Layne Evans rounding out the JV Dutchmen baseball roster. Seeing 12 freshmen come out for Dutch- men baseball this spring, Ahring will be assisted by Steven Kemp and Casey Fisher. Dropping Belle from the schedule, Ahring has beefed up his schedule with bigger schools. Not only does St. Francis Borgia return to the schedule, but the Columbia High School Tournament at Hickman High School also returns. “We have some big schools on our schedule to help us gear up for districts in May,” Ahring said. District and class assignments will be released at the end of the month. Replacing Nathan Cabot, VanLeer will also serve as the head coach of the Owens- ville Dutchmen Golf Team. Members of the Owensville High School (OHS) Class of 2020 not able to play their season due to the coronavirus pandemic were Hunter Hutchison, Blaine Reed and Logan Tiefenbrunn. Out of the seven golfers that VanLeer has on his roster, two of them are seniors this spring in returner Tanner Brown and newcomer Connor Lang who previously played baseball. Tyler Perkins is the lone junior for Van- Leer’s OHS golf team making the majority of the team underclassmen. Sophomores making up the majority of the OHS Golf contingency include Kohl Grannemann, Tyler Mogenson and Erik Shell. Rounding out the OHS Golf roster as the lone freshman is Cole Angell. Practicing throughout the spring at Owensville Golf Course (OGC), OHS will only have two meets this spring. They will be on Tuesday, April 6 hosting St. Clair and on Tuesday, April 13 hosting Sullivan. Both meets have a 4 p.m., tee time.
