ABOUT US Women in Governance is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2010 with the mission of supporting women in their leadership development, career advancement, and access to board seats. The alarming statistics of the number of women in senior positions or serving on boards of directors motivated us to create this organization. Things have greatly evolved in the past fifty years for women. However, to this day, only 5% of women in Canada are CEOs, 14% of board of director seats are occupied by women and 45% of boards do not have any female members. We have a gap left to fill. All the research has shown that the presence of women in company decision-making bodies results in better financial performance. Allowing women to progress with no glass ceiling or sticky floor doesn’t only benefit women, it benefits companies, the economy, and society as a whole, especially in a context where talented individuals are hard to come by. 7 / 12

PARITY CERTIFICATION Women in Governance’s Parity Certification serves to help Canadian organizations increase the representation of women in sectors where they have historically been underrepresented, as well as in senior management positions. This innovative certification not only evaluates parity at the decision-making level of organizations, but also assesses the organization’s commitment to the implementation of mechanisms that enable women at all levels of its hierarchy to achieve career advancement, thus creating a pipeline of female talent. The Parity Certification Committee thoroughly researched trends across sectors when developing the certification criteria, which allows the certification to be applicable to all large businesses. Further, the questionnaire was built with the support of McKinsey & Company in collaboration with human resources senior management representatives and the support of the Quebec Order of Certified Human Resources Professionals (CRHA). This timely and relevant initiative received outstanding feedback and presents a unique opportunity for organizations that want to engage and integrate the equity dimension into their human resources strategy, and have their actions recognized and validated by an independent third party. In 2017, this certification was available to organizations in Quebec with over 400 employees. In 2018 the scope of the certification has been expanded and all Canadian organizations with over 400 employees are eligible to participate regardless of the location of their headquarters or board of directors. With 31 certified organizations, this initiative has an impact on 258,127 employees across Canada; they will benefit from the best practices established by their employers to enable women to progress without glass ceilings or sticky floors. 11 / 12
MENTORING PROGRAM Our mentorship program brings together 40 women a year who are in management positions (VPs, CFOs, etc.), who are mostly in large and very large companies and aspiring to senior executive management or board of director positions. Research shows that there is no shortage of competent and experienced women to fill positions in corporate decision-making bodies and that there is a strong interest from women for such positions. However, many women struggle to transition between management and executive management roles. This is partly due to the lack of "sponsors" who would offer more than just advice, but would concretely support these women's career advancement (men in similar positions are 46% more likely to have such a sponsor) as well as the weak support of the corporate world with regards to work-life balance. Women in Governance’s mentoring program is unique as it supports high-level women's development through the last push that will allow them to break the glass ceiling. GOVERNANCE TRAINING Women in Governance is proud to partner with IGOPP (Institute for governance of private and public organizations) to offer a series of 5 training workshops entitled: Key issues in corporate governance. We are empowering women to be ready to take a seat at the table of board of directors. 12 / 12
