Having had the distinct pleasure of The David Bowie alumni band performs directing Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of Diamond Dogs and Ziggy Stardust in entirety. Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, I have a deep appreciation for F R I D AY, A P R I L 3 THE HIT MEN the heart thumping power of a good mystery/thriller. Our audiences seem Legendary Rock Supergroup to have a great appetite for this genre as well! From Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville to Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, our audiences have come out in force and cheered S AT U R D AY, A P R I L 4 us on, asking for more. S U N D AY, A P R I L 5 CIRQUE ÉLOIZE The person who first encouraged me to produce a mystery at McCarter is the director Hotel of tonight’s production, one of my most gifted protégés and an Artistic Director now in his own right, Adam Immerwahr. In 2016, his production of Agatha Christie’s The T U E S D AY, A P R I L 7 Mousetrap was so extraordinarily successful, I wanted him to return to McCarter to DAVID SEDARIS direct a mystery during my legacy season. I am happy to say he passionately advocated for Sleuth, one of the most original thrillers written in the English language. A wickedly sly, fiendishly theatrical tour de force, I hope it keeps you glued to the edge of your T H U R S D AY, A P R I L 9 DORRANCE DANCE seat! SOUNDSpace And—I hope you come back to see The Refuge Plays, a beautiful new play written by one of our rising stars. Playwright Nathan Alan Davis brings to life four generations of S AT U R D AY, A P R I L 11 an African American family. Newman, Roger Purnell Each season apprentices arrive at McCarter from across the country, living in shared housing while working alongside their professional counterparts. The apprentice program has been a vital educational stop for many of the country’s leading theatre professionals, as you can see from these comments from two former apprentices (previously called interns): Set Design Alexander Dodge “The McCarter Internship continues to impact my life today. The skills I gained Costume Design Ivania Stack were invaluable. The theater that I was exposed to is like nothing else I have Lighting Design Nancy Schertler ever experienced. Each young person should immerse themselves in this type of Sound Design Darron L West environment post-graduation. The staff were extremely influential, helping me Wig and Makeup Design Carissa Thorlakson understand the way in which not just a professional theater runs, but a professional Fight Director J.
