      Much work has been undertaken to research and in some instances test different packaging alternatives.
      Transition to more sustainable packaging options have in some instances been constrained by:
         • Technical feasibility
         • Meeting timelines to launch
         • Inability to meet stringent Breville drop test standards
         • Cost when alternatives are significantly more expensive than existing
         • Limited availability of the packaging in countries where Breville products are manufactured; and
         • Counter-productive environmental outcomes, i.e. switching to recyclable alternatives which increase total
            packaging volume and weight and further increase shipping and transport space requirements.

                                                                Recycling collectors have reported only once where
                                                                contamination of the recycling stream was found. A
                                                                company communication was issued to reflect this

                                                                There is no way to record recyclables in general
                                                                waste as this is not broken down via the collector.

                                                                            pulp packaging in some instances for heavier

                                                                        • Potentially reduce overall packaging volume
                                                                            per unit to reduce shipping volumes
                                                                   The new packaging has been approved for use but
                                                                   not introduced in the reporting period. The new
                                                                   packaging format was developed as a result of the
                                                                   SPG existing packaging reviews.

30. Key achievements or good news stories
     Plans to phase out polystyrene packaging are tracking ahead of schedule.

     A number of potential packaging improvements have been identified during the SPG review of existing packaging
     and work is now being undertaken to both amend current products but importantly change packaging
     specifications so that new products have improved packaging.

     Some actions will need to be revisited given the relocation of the company warehouse and planned relocation of
     head office.
