Make a SPLASH in your school or community! WWF-New Zealand is delighted to bring Whale Tales to Tāmaki Makaurau from 24 January – 18 April 2022, and we’d love you to join us for a whale of a time! Over 200 whale tail sculptures, all uniquely designed by artists, community groups and school students, will appear in locations across Auckland. For 12 weeks, they will form a fun, free, family-friendly art “migration” to all parts of the city. Trail explorers of all ages and stages will have a fin-tastic time discovering the tails. And the fun doesn’t stop there! A virtual trail will give explorers across Aotearoa and around the world the opportunity to participate too. The event will bring communities together to help them celebrate their city, their culture and their connection with the marine environment, through creativity and storytelling. After the trail the large whale tail sculptures will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for restoration and conservation of The Hauraki Gulf. Now is the time to join the pod, and to be part of the WWF Whale Tales 2022 adventure!
