SECTION B — SHEEP Chief Stewards: Ashley Lock Ph: 9881 3091 Richard Chadwick Ph: 0427 812 329 Exhibits must be penned not later than 8:30 am on Saturday, and judging will commence at 9:00 am sharp. No residency limit for entries. Points will be allocated to class size. Members Entry Fee $3. Non-Members Entry Fee $4 Entry Restriction: Exhibitors are limited to two entries in any one Class. Group Classes to be taken from exhibits. Any exhibit that, in the opinion of the Judges, does not comply with the conditions shall be disqualified. The Judges decision in the matter is final. Shorn classes to be regulation shorn, unless otherwise stated. All Merino Sheep to be shown in full wool, unless otherwise stated. Number of days' growth of wool must be shown on entry form and also on tags provided by the Society, which must be attached to the exhibit. Ages of Sheep: Ages of Sheep must be computed up to the day of judging. Sheep competing in the under 1 ½ year old classes must not show more than two permanent teeth, and Sheep competing in the 1 ½ years and older classes must not show less than four permanent teeth. Champion Ribbons will be issued to the Champion Ram and Ewe in every Merino and Prime Lamb Breeds Section, also Champion Ewe in Farmers' Classes. Ribbons will also be issued to the Grand Champion Merino Ram (horned or polled) and Grand Champion Merino Ewe & Supreme Exhibit. Presentation of awards - 2:00pm in ram shed. SECTION C - WOOL Chief Steward: Ann Rintoul Ph: 9885 1031 ENTRY FEE: $4.00 Exhibits MUST be in Narrogin Leisure Centre by 10:30am SHARP on Friday. Judging will commence at 11:30am SHARP. Each exhibitor is restricted to TWO (2) entries per class. Entry forms to NAS Show Office or emailed to Secretary (nassecretary16@gmail.com). Entries close 12th October, 2016. CONDITIONS: All fleeces must be skirted to the standard recognised by AWEX code of practice, unless otherwise stated. Bellies and pieces must not be attached to the exhibit. Any variety water fowl SECTION - EGGS Section Steward: To be appointed by Narrogin Poultry Society Entries will be displayed in the Poultry Shed Section Rules: All eggs to be displayed on plain white paper bowl. No decoration allowed. Eggs will be judged for uniformity, size, colour and weight. All eggs are to be clean, not washed or oiled. Award will be presented for: Most points in section Egg Classes 1. EXHIBITION HALL RULES & REGULATIONS Entry fees must be paid in full at the Show Office when lodging exhibit/s. All entry forms must be filled out prior to lodging. Any entry emailed will not be entered unless payment has been made by EFT (reference noted on email with entry form) and tickets for exhibits must be picked up by no later than Wednesday 12th October. ENTRY FEE is $2.00 unless otherwise stated. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED Entry forms must be lodged by 3:00pm – Tuesday, 11th October Photography & Floriculture entry forms must be lodged by 3.00pm Monday, 10th October Prize money can be collected from the Show Office after 10am on Saturday of the show, however prize money not collected by 6:00pm will revert to the Society. If you, cannot collect prize money on the day, please arrange for someone to pick it up on your behalf. CHIEF STEWARDS: Kerry Suckling & Jenny Ettridge These are the rules for all sections, unless otherwise stated - All exhibits, with the society’s card attached, must be at the exhibition hall on Friday 14th October 2016, between 8:00am and 12:00 noon when section stewards will be in attendance. Judging will commence at 12:45pm sharp. Only stewards, judges or their assistants are to remain in the exhibition hall during judging. o Exhibits to be presented in clean condition. o Names on exhibits are to be covered on tickets. o Any article having won a prize at a previous Narrogin Show is not eligible for entry. o All articles must be the work of the exhibitor. o Limit of three (3) entries per exhibitor per class permitted o No exhibits are to be left/stored at the Office prior to the Show commencing with the exception of photography. Prize Money 1st Prize - $4.00 2nd Prize - $2.00 EXHIBITS ARE NOT TO BE COLLECTED BEFORE 4.30 PM SATURDAY POINTS ALLOCATION: Where there is a tie in the number of points gained, the winner will be decided on a count back. The Exhibitor gaining the most number of first places shall be declared the winner. Where there may only be one or two entries the Judge may decide not to give a first or second if entries are not worthy. POINTS SYSTEM: 1st Place - 5 Points 2nd Place - 3 Points Overall Points Winner for Exhibition Shed and various sections will be awarded at Presentations Highly Commended may be awarded where there are seven (7) or more entries, or where the Judges class an exhibit worthy of Commendation. The Chief Steward, Section Stewards and Judges will resolve any disputes. Judges and Section Stewards reserve the right to re-enter an entry into a more appropriate section and/or class. The decision of the Society on all points shall be final and without recourse. Award presentations will be made from the stage area in the exhibition hall at 2:00pm Saturday.

SECTION L - KNITTING AND CROCHET WORK Stewards: Anne-Marie Hayes & Kerry Suckling Judging Guide: Casting on and off stitches done evenly in tension and not too tightly. Joining in of yarn, picking up of stitches around neck or armbands to be neat. Evenness of fabric and tension suited to yarn chosen (fine needles for the fine yarn). Proportion-state if wearer is out of general proportion (long arms). Suitability of yarn colour as regards pattern chosen (flecked or textured wool used in plain pattern). Pressing, seaming and making up. Buttons to be stitched on with matching wool. Any appropriate seaming method may be used. Flat seams on all children’s garments. Lemon Syrup Cake Recipe Ingredients: 125gm butter 1 Cup castor sugar 2 eggs ½ Cup milk 1 ½ Cups self-raising flour Rind of 1 lemon Topping: ¼ cup castor sugar & Juice of 1 lemon Method: Grease & line a standard loaf tin, cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, beat well. Sift in flour, then add lemon rind and milk. Bake at 180 degrees for approximately 50 minutes. Topping: Mix lemon juice and sugar together, poke some holes in the top of the cake and pour topping over hot cake, while still in the cake tin. Leave cake in the cake tin to cool.

Class 12: Recipe CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE 125g butter, chopped 1 tsp. vanilla essence 1 cup castor sugar 2 eggs 11/3 cups self-raising flour ½ cup cocoa 2 /3 cup water Combine butter, essence, sugar, eggs, sifted flour and cocoa and water in medium bowl, beat on low speed with electric mixer until ingredients are combined. Beat on medium speed until mixture is smooth and paler in colour. Pour into deep 20cm round cake tin. Bake in moderate oven for about 55 minutes. Stand for 5 minutes before turning out to cool. The Narrogin Agricultural Show Society and Dryandra Regional Equestrian Association accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury to competitors, gear, mounts, and persons entering the ring do so at their own risk. Stallions and Colts must be under control at all times, have suitable headgear and the age of the handler must be 18 years of age or over (If a stallion gets loose due to the headgear the owner will be held responsible for any damage caused). All riders must wear safety approved helmet AUS/NZ3838 or its equivalent and smooth soled riding boots. Helmets & Boots to be worn when warming up horses & ponies Handler’s age shall be the age on the day of the competition Proof of registration MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH ENTRY No hay is permitted in the Racing Stalls.
