This class uses, dumbbells and mats for floor exercise & stretching! Free! Begin 2B Fit Chair Exercise Thursdays at 10:30-11:10am. This class is for a beginner, someone out of shape, or the individual with limited range of motion. Join us for this fun class while you exercise with a chair either seated or standing. This class will help give you increased flexibility, tone up your muscles, elevate your heart rate, strengthen your body and maintain balance. No dance steps! Cost is $20.00 f or a 4 week session. Wednesdays at the Senior Center from 10:45am to 12:00pm “Petaluma Music Group” meets on Thursdays at the Senior Center from 10 am to 11:30 am. This fun and lively group of musicians play guitar, ukulele, keyboards and flute. They are always looking for more talented musicians to join in on their group. Please bring your instrument to class! FREE “Guitar/Piano” lessons with instructor Laura Comyns. Have you always wanted to play the piano or the guitar, here’s your chance. Laura will teach you the basic steps of learning the keyboard or guitar chords and how to read notes to start you playing songs right away. Care-Giving Support Group - This group has changed the time from 11am to 12:30pm. They will be meet- ing on the 2nd Monday of each month. This class offers support in a caring, non-judgmental and confidential way for all caregivers of Alzheimer's and Dementia loved ones. Earl Baum Sight Support - This group meets on every 4th Friday of the month at 10am offering support and assistance with vision loss for individuals. U.S. Foreign Policy & Current Events - Meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday from 10:00-12:00pm. This group discusses current International topics and more. As we all know, our politicians, government agencies and many of our largest companies have been hacked, and this situation seems to be getting worse as the victims are less educated about internet security and the perpetrators get smarter. Is there anything the individual can do to avoid getting hacked? The answer is a resounding ‘yes’. At this meeting we will discuss what you, as an indi- vidual, can do to ensure that you are not a victim of the electronic hackers. Drop In! Free! This class is taught by Mike Burwen

Cost: $3.00 per person Free Balance Class with Bonnie Thursday May 11th 10am -11am Please join Bonnie for a brisk and easy hour of discussing fall safety and doing simple stretches, rolls and marching that can keep you safe and sane. We all know that mindfulness about our surroundings is how we stay safe, now add simple movements that tells your body your intention to stay safe. Every movement is useful any time you wish. No special equipment needed. “Remember: We wish to stay upright not uptight” Free safety checklist for you or your friends to use. Free chip clips too. This class is offered with Bonnie Koagedal (Community Outreach Coordinator with Homewatch CareGivers) Basic Computer Class: Starting from the beginning - Starts on May 5th –26th There is a “NEW” Basic Computer class starting again in May taught by Steve Haga who has been offering his Computer Tutoring Services at the Senior Center for many years. This Computer course will be an introduction to using computers, learning all about the history and changes of computers, Comput- er Jargon, Using Windows, IOS (Mac) and why it matters. Learn all about Email and creating a new ac- count, how to use the Internet wisely and searching on Google and much, much, more. This class will meet on Fridays starting April 7th and run through April 28th (4 weeks) from 10am to 12pm. The cost of this course is $30.00. Having high blood pressure can lead to heart attack, stroke or other serious negative complications. Fitness and Strength Training Chair Exercise Mondays from 1:30pm to 2:30 $3.00 per class Diana Scranton the Senior Center Zumba Gold Instructor has started teaching a new course called “Fitness and Strength Training!” Join Diana for a fun class focused on improving functional fitness by enhancing cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance, balance, coordina- tion, and posture in a supportive environment, while seated and/or standing. This class uses 1-2 pound hand weights, resistance bands, and 6-inch balls all supplied from the instructor. This class is for anyone from the beginner to experienced chair athletes, including individu- als with limited range of motion. This class has a $3.00 fee for each class! Drop in! The Petaluma Museum Building and Exhibits The former library now houses Petaluma poultry, dairy, and Miwok Indian history exhibits from the 1850s. The cor- nerstone for this stately Carnegie Library was laid in 1904. The building, designed by local architect Brainerd Jones and built from locally quarried stone, features the largest free-standing leaded glass dome in Northern California. The building is in the neo-classical style, featuring original fan-glass windows, round leaded-glass windows, also original interior wood paneling and columns. It also houses a fine research library. Items depicting Petaluma’s rich history are available in our Museum Store. Looking for a great way to give back to the community? Come volunteer at the Petaluma Historical Library and Muse- um.
