29th Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree Bethel, Maine September 27 - 29, 2018 Trail Rating 3 – 9 Policies & Reminders for 2018 • 2018 EVENT WAIVER: It is a requirement that you complete a Release of Liability Waiver for all occupants of your Jeep 4x4 and BRING IT WITH YOU TO ON-SITE REGISTRATION (THURSDAY). A printed, signed and dated Release of Liability Waiver is required for each participant attending a Jeep Jamboree USA event. All passengers in your Jeep 4x4 must sign a Release of Liability Waiver. A parent or the minor’s legal guardian must sign and date a waiver for participants under the age of 18 years old. If you forget your signed Release of Liability Waiver, all occupants of your vehicle must be present at registration to sign a new waiver before you can receive your event credentials. • NO ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED: All new registrations of vehicles, adding, deleting or changing passengers must be completed (2) two weeks prior to the Jamboree date. Please refer to the refund and transfer policy on your registration form, event itinerary or the official Jeep Jamboree website jeepjamboreeusa.com • Participant Jeep tire size is not to exceed 37.” If you exceed the tire limitations you will be turned away at registration and will not be allowed to attend the Jamboree or receive a refund. • A working CB radio with adequate antenna is mandatory for all Jeep Jamboree events. Handheld CB’s are not recommended. • In order to sign up for off-road trails, your Vehicle Evaluation form must be stamped by the JJUSA Event Staff when you receive your registration packet. • Each participant must wear his/her wristband and nametag throughout the entire Jamboree. • Trail stickers provided at trail sign-ups must be displayed on your windshield prior to departing for any off- road trail ride. ADDITIONAL NOTES • JJUSA Event t-shirts are not trip specific and are the same for the entire season. Event t-shirts are included in your registration fee and must be ordered at the time of your registration. Please list desired sizes during your online registration or while registering over the phone. • While the Trail Guides do their best to trim back as much brush as possible, they are limited by federal, state, tribal and private landowners as to how much trail maintenance can be performed.
29th Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree This Jamboree is a “Classic” Jamboree. Catered meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday. THURSDAY, September 27, 2018 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Vehicle evaluation will take place in the parking lot behind The Gem Theater, 23 Cross Street in Bethel, Maine, located at the junction of Route 2 and 26. Look for signs. Vehicle evaluation is mandatory prior to trail sign-ups. Please do not start to line up for evaluation until after 2pm as this is an active place of business. Evaluations will begin no sooner than 4:30pm. Registration and trail sign-ups will be held at the Conference Center of The Bethel Inn located at 12 Broad Street. The Conference Center is located across the street from the Inn. Look for signs! EACH DRIVER MUST HAVE THEIR VEHICLE EVALUATION SHEET STAMPED BY JJUSA EVENT STAFF BEFORE YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR REGISTRATION PACKET OR SIGN UP FOR TRAILS. ONLY ONE NAME PER EVALUATION SHEET WILL BE ALLOWED. YOU MAY NOT SIGN UP YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS FOR TRAILS. Trail sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis. No late registrations on Friday morning. Make sure you select your meal choice for Saturday dinner (beef or lobster) and get your dinner ticket! This must be presented Saturday night when you arrive at dinner. FRIDAY, September 28, 2018 6:30 A.M. - 8:00 A.M. TRAIL DESCRIPTIONS Stagecoach Trail: rating 3-4 - This trail includes a variety of terrain including rock, some mud (especially if we have rain), a log bridge, and forest trails. This trail includes a breath-taking scenic view. Grafton Notch: rating 3-4 - This trail takes you through beautiful Grafton Notch State Park and also offers a variety of terrain including gravel road, stream crossings, uphill grades and spectacular views. Rumor has it hot coffee and homemade donuts were served on the trail last year. Stinger: rating 4-5 - A good trail for slightly modified Jeeps and drivers with a little more experience with 4WD. This trail has uphill grades with mud and rock, a nice variety. Moose Run: rating 4-6 - Great trails for slightly modified jeeps that take you past an old covered bridge into Sunday River Valley with easy river crossings, mud climbs and beautiful mountain views. Ridgeline: rating 6-8 - Steep uphill climbs, sections of mud, aggressive ledge climbs with optional by-passes, spectacular views of Grafton Notch State Park and Sunday River Ski Area. Winches and lockers highly suggested, at least 33” tires recommended. Stonewall: rating 6-7 - This trail offers rock obstacles, mud, optional mud hole and optional ledge climb. Winches and lockers highly recommended. At least 33” tires required. Everett’s Chile Trail: rating 7-8 - Mud, steep uphill grades, wet rock (possible body damage). Winch and at least one locker recommended. Beautiful scenic overlook and Ma Everett’s famous chili awaits you at lunch break. Sherwood Forest: rating 7-8 - Steep ledge climbs, mud hole, boulders, and beautiful panoramic view at top. Cameras are a must. Highly recommend winch and front and rear lockers with at least 33” tires. Dragon’s Tail: rating 8-9 - Winch, lockers, 35 inch tires, and tow hooks are mandatory on this trail. Offers a variety of terrain including mud, many tricky Rock climbs and boulders (possible body damage), and beautiful mountain scenery.
