1. Initial Greetings
1.1. Head of the host NF
It is a great honor for me to invite all
competitors to participate in the WKF
Karate 1 Youth League which will take
place in Umag, Croatia, from the 5th
until 7th July 2019.
Organizing such an event is prestigious
and a great responsibility. We hope
that all participants will feel the
Croatian hospitality. World Karate
Federation is actively working towards
the endorsement of the philosophy and
spirit of Karate, promotes and develops
Karate as an elite sport, as well as a
mass sport for everyone. WKF karate 1
Youth league is more than just a
competition, it is a place where
friendship, respect and tolerance meet.
The Karate sport is a challenge to the human spirit, the will and strength of the
human body, daring and respect towards the opponent and a century old wisdom
from the path.
I wish all participants good health and strength, boldness respect and dignity, and
many sports victories.

2. Introduction
The Karate 1 – Youth League is a newly created competition conceived to highlight
the impact of Karate in young ages.
Established under the umbrella of Karate 1, and designed to complete Karate 1-
Premier League and Karate 1-Series A, the Karate 1-Youth League aims at becoming
a platform for the development of youngsters in their quest to progress in the
sport.
The new competition was devised to respond to the increasing interest of young
competitors to have more options to compete at the highest level and it puts the
focus on karatekas aged 12 to 17.
The number of competitors is open. All members of WKF are admitted to
participate.
The WKF competition Rules in force will be applied.

2.1. WKF Approved Items
The Karate 1 - Youth League complies with the highest level of safety. In order to
guarantee the correct delivery of the event, and to ensure the suitable quality of
the tournament, exclusively the following brands are WKF Approved for use in the
2018 Karate 1 - Youth League Season.

KARATEGIS WITH THE BRAND EMBROIDERED ON THE SHOULDERS
The Karategis with the embroidered brand of the manufacturer on the
shoulders will be accepted for use in the Youth League by those
competitors who wish to do so, both for Kata and Kumite in red or blue

118. Online Registration
All competitors, referees, coaches and media representatives must be registered
online using the online platform (https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/
veranstaltung_info_main.php?active_menu=calendar&vernr=274#a_eventhead) . No
onsite registration will be accepted. The registration will be validated once
completed the online payment through the payment platform. In case of any
questions concerning the online registration please directly contact the Sportdata
software team via the email address office@sportdata.org
Individuals and National Federations are responsible for the quality of the entered
registration data. Once close the online registration, any comments will have to
notified to the software and to the WKF at latest five day before the first day of
competition.

The official registration session will take place on 4th July 2019 from 09.00 a.m. to
17.00 in HQ Hotel SOL Garden Istra,
If changes are required during the official registration session because of incorrect,
or missing registration data, a fee of € 20 is charged for each change.
At registration, accreditation cards will be issued with the participants main data,
a photograph and information about registered categories. The accreditation card
must be worn at all times during the event.
Only members of national federations recognized by WKF are admitted to
participate, as per Youth League Organising Rules 2019 (PL OR Point 6

All participants must submit an official document (passport or other valid ID
card) for the WKF identification and validation at the accreditation session.
The accreditation of any competitor must be done by the athlete or the
athlete’s coach, in person bringing the athlete passport or other valid ID at the
accreditation session.
12The competitor who has not collected, either personally or through his/her
coach the accreditation during the official registration, will not be included in
the draw.
The weighing will be carried out immediately after receiving the accreditation,
those athletes who will not attend the weighing will not be included in the
draw.

10.Entry Fee
The entry fees are € 40 per individual category entry.
10.1.Payment
All payments must be processed through the online payment platform. No onsite
payment will be accepted.

NOTE. It is possible to take part in both the “Accredited Coach Briefing” and the
“Certified Kata and/or Kumite Coach Exam”.
Minimum Requirements
According to the Coach License Manual, the minimum level required to take
part in the Karate 1 events (Premier League, Series A and Youth League) is the
“ACCREDITED COACH LEVEL”.
Coaches must attend to a compulsory Coach Briefing to obtain the Accredited
Coach Certification.
NO COACHES WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THEIR ACCREDITATION OR TO PERFORM
SUCH FUNCTION AS COACH IN KARATE 1 EVENTS, IF THEY ARE NOT IN
POSSESSION OF THE “WKF ACCREDITED COACH” LEVEL.
According to the WKF Coach License Manual, the “WKF KUMITE COACH and/or WKF
KATA COACH” certification is the minimum level required to take part in the
World Championships, whether Senior or Junior, Cadet and U21, in Kumite or Kata
bouts, as it corresponds.
Coaches must pass an exam to obtain the Kumite/Kata Certification.
No coaches will be able to receive their accreditation or to perform such function
as coach in the WKF World Championships if they are not in possession of the “WKF
Kumite Coach and/or WKF Kata Coach” level.
Only coaches in possession of the “WKF Accredited Coach” level have access to the
“WKF Certified Kata and/or Kumite Coach Exam

THOSE COACHES WHO WISH TO ATTEND TO THE “COACH PROGRAMME” IN UMAG
(CROATIA) MUST BE REGISTERED AND PAID ONLINE.

The online registration to take part on this Coach Programme Umag 2019 will open
on 5th April 2019 at 12:00 (GMT +0) and will close on 21st June 2019 at 12:00 (GMT

NOTE: Onsite registration and payments will NOT be accepted.
Although all registrations and payments must be processed online, all coaches
attending the Umag Coaches Program 2019 must attend to the onsite
accreditation for Coaches to collect the identification that will give him/her
access to the briefing/exam room.

1512.Prizes
The event prizes (medals and trophies) are to be provided by the host.
In each individual category the first prize will be a gold medal.
The second prize will be a silver medal. The third prizes will be bronze medals.
13.Ranking
Competitors can earn ranking points in every Karate1 event according to the
official WKF Ranking Regulations. Competitor U14 do not earn ranking points:

14.Ticket for spectators
The entrance to Youth League Umag 2019 is free for all.

DYNAMICS
After confirmation, the guest is required to pay 30% of the full amount within 24
hours (not including Saturdays, Sundays or holidays) to make the reservation valid.
The other 70% the guest is required to pay at least 35 days before arrival.
PAYMENT METHODS / BANK TRANSFER
If you wish to pay for your reservation by bank transfer, you need to pay the
required amount within 24 hours from the time of reservation, or at time you
receive confirmation of availability from our operators. At the same time, the
guest is obliged to send Uniline d.o.o. a confirmation of the payment. In contrary,
Uniline d.o.o. is not obligated to carry out the service of the reservation. Uniline
d.o.o. is not responsible for outstanding reservations of services caused by not
receiving the confirmation within 24 hours (except for Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays). All bank costs are to be paid by the client (when making the bank
transfer payment client must put OUR on "Detail of charge"). All reservations not
paid in full will not be considered valid. The bank transfer is not available if the
beginning of Your stay is within 5 work days for payments from abroad, or 3
working days for payments by bank transfer within Croatia. For all additional

Croatia has 56,542 square kilometers (plus its sea
area - 31,900 sq.km.) 1,777 km of coastline (and
more than 4,000 km of islands coastline),
4,437,000 inhabitants (just as a quarter of New
York), and almost as many abroad, counting

2317.Visa Requirements
CROATIAN KARATE UNION will issue “Invitation letters” for all registered
delegations . CKU will issue “Guarantee letter” for visa purposes only for
delegations that have booked official accommodation through official agency
due to regulations of Ministry of internal affairs and laws of Republic of Croatia
and guarantees that CROATIAN KARATE UNION has to provide for each person
that is traveling with visa to Croatia.

Please check the website of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the

requirements-overview/ to see if you are required to have a Croatian visa when
entering Croatia.
Third-country nationals who require a visa for Croatia but are holders of valid:
a) uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member
States;
b) visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries,
issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognized by one or more,
but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the
territory of the Member States recognizing the travel document;
c) long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding 90 days, issued by one of the Schengen
Area Member State;
d) residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
e) national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Bulgaria,
listed in Annex I of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
f) national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Cyprus, listed
in Annex III of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
g) national visas for two or multiple entries and residence permits of Romania,
listed in Annex IV of the Decision No 565/2014/EU;
Do not require (additional Croatian) visa for transit or intended stays in the
territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
The period of validity of the above-mentioned Schengen, Bulgarian, Cypriot, and
Romanian documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.

Where to apply for a Croatian VISA?
Participants who require a visa should apply in person at the Croatian Embassy or, if
available, at the Visa Application Centre in their country of residence.
Please note that visa application shall be submitted no sooner than three months
before the intended date of traveling to Croatia.
