About The Heart Foundation The Heart Foundation is dedicated to saving lives by making a difference to the heart health of all Australians. For more than 50 years we have funded outstanding cardiovascular research, supported health professionals, developed high quality health promotion activities and coordinated public education programs. However, there is more to achieve. Cardiovascular disease (CVD), including heart, stroke and blood vessel disease, is still the biggest killer in Australia. Every 12 minutes an Australian dies from CVD. Most women don’t know that they are three times more likely to die from CVD than from breast cancer. CVD does not discriminate by age, race or gender. It can affect us all. We are determined to save as many lives as we can in our Photo Courtesy of the Community Newspaper Group quest to beat cardiovascular disease. We achieve this by: • S upporting and informing: We help people with, and at risk of, CVD by providing comprehensive information and guidance on how to minimise risk. • D eveloping partnerships: We support and work with all levels of government, other health organisations, the media and community groups to implement policies and programs that improve the heart health of all Australians. • Improving care: We help people diagnosed with CVD to access the best possible care, using the latest research to support practical treatment tools for health professionals. We believe all Australians, regardless of their circumstance, should have access to world-class care. • B uilding healthier communities: We support local governments to promote healthy lifestyles through infrastructure and initiatives, including cycle ways, improved walking paths and smoke-free outdoor areas. • P romoting awareness: Through our community education campaigns we promote simple lifestyle changes to improve the heart health of all Australians. With your support, we can combat CVD and save Australian lives. 1300 905 188 isabel@inspiredadventures.com.au inspiredadventures.com.au youtube.com/inspiredadventures © Inspired Adventures 2014.
