A Reunion of the Scottish Rite Bodies is more than just
a conferring of degrees on a class of worthy Master
Masons. It is – as the name implies – a reunion, a meet-
ing of friends, a reunion of classmates from past years.
It is an opportunity for members of the current class to
become more acquainted, to be linked together in a bond
that endures. More than that, it is a time when some of
us, who have been members, witness the degrees again,
to be inspired by a better understanding of the mysteries
by reason of repetition. The Scottish Rite degrees never Schedule of the Day

Take a Master Mason
to the next level!
Have you offered a Master Mason the opportunity to
join the Scottish Rite? Why not? Freemasons belong to
the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world.
Today, there are more than two million Freemasons in
North America alone. Masons represent virtually every
occupation and profession, yet within the Fraternity,
all meet as equals. Masons come from diverse political
ideologies, yet meet as friends. Masons come from varied
religious beliefs and creeds, yet all believe in God.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Freemasonry is
how so many men, from so many different walks of life,
can meet together in peace, always conducting their affairs
in harmony and friendship and calling each other “Brother.”
The singular purpose is to make good men better. Its
bonds of friendship, compassion, and brotherly love have
survived even the most divisive political, military, and

                                                                   “
religious conflicts through the centuries. Freemasonry is a
fraternity that encourages its members to practice the faith
of their acceptance. Masonry teaches that each person,
through self-improvement and helping others, makes a
difference for good in the world.

When a Master Mason advances to the higher degrees There are no

active participation in its affairs. He cannot fail to see the
intimate relationship between the two, and far from losing
interest or diminishing his appreciation, he gains from only friends

Masonic Morals within Disney
In March of 1920, one of the most well-known names in history
became the 107th member initiated into Mother Chapter Order of
DeMolay in Kansas City, Missouri. Walter Elias Disney was born
in Chicago, Illinois in 1901. He had an eventful upbringing mov-
ing three times before turning 18, working as a newspaper boy,
driving an ambulance for the red cross in World War I, and tak-
ing many night classes for the arts. Disney didn’t make it big right
away, but his determination had him releasing the film Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. As Walt Disney would say, “All our
dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Leading through his uprising into a household name, Walt Dis-
ney was still involved with DeMolay. If you saw Walt in public, you
would have found him wearing a DeMolay ring on his hand. Walt
was granted the Legion of Honor and Founders Cross by Dad
Frank S. Land, The founder of the Order of DeMolay. He was later
approached by Dad Land to speak to the DeMolays at the first Found-
ers’ Conference on him working towards accomplishing his dreams.

In his later years, Walt was quoted talking about DeMolay saying,
“[In] DeMolay, and I learned to believe in the basic principle of the
right of man to exercise his faith and thoughts as he chooses. In
DeMolay, we believe in a supreme being, in the fellowship of man,
and the sanctity of the home. DeMolay stands for all that is good for
the family and our country.” Clearly, the moral values of DeMolay and
the masonic fraternity are evident not only in Walt Disney’s own life
but entire decades of movies for the World to see.
