SCHOOL’S OUT! ENRICHMENT CLUB DESCRIPTIONS TRIMESTER 1: September 13, 2021 – December 10, 2021 (or the last full day of Trimester 1) Return by: September 8, 2021 Register Online at http://schoolsoutprogram.org MONDAY Beginner Lego Club with Ms. Cochrane: Learn the basics about building with Legos. Use fine motor skills to build your name, animals, and scenes. It’s fun, social, hands on and creative! 1-3 Board Games with Ms. Cullison: In this club you will learn new skills while playing fun board games with your peers. Rush Hour, Clue, Monopoly, Sorry, Guess Who?, Scrabble and more! 1-3 Drum Fit/C.A.T.C.H Kids with Ms. Cameron: Work up a sweat and burn some energy through a variety of physical activities. Build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. 4-6 Variety Club with Ms. Gonzalez: Join us for activities to increase social and friendship skills based on your interests; arts, music, literacy, science, math, service activities, games, cooking and more! 4-6 TUESDAY Drum Fit/C.A.T.C.H Kids with Ms. Cameron: Work up a sweat and burn some energy through a variety of physical activities. Build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. 1-3 Young Author/Illustrator Club with Ms. Newbury & Ms. Podsen: Come together to draw, write, and develop your creative expression and inspiration as we turn our own stories into homemade books. 1-3 Kick Ball with Ms. Rogers: Develop your team skills while learning to play the game of kick ball. Practice good sportsmanship, enhance your physical skills, and have fun with friends! 4-6 Spanish Club with Ms. Cullison: Hola Amigos! In this club you will learn about Spanish culture and basic Spanish vocabulary through games, music, food, and crafts! 4-6 WEDNESDAY Spanish Club with Ms. Cullison: Hola Amigos! In this club you will learn about Spanish culture and language through stories, crafts, songs, and dancing. Fun and educational! 1-3 Rock Climbing with Ms. Cameron & Ms. Gonzalez: Work together to build trust and communication skills with fun games and fitness activities that lead to rock climbing. Sneakers required. 1-3 Advanced Legos with Ms. Cochrane: Use your imagination to build Lego and Bionicle projects using advanced kits or free-build your own design. 4-6 Jump Rope Club with Ms. Sanborn: In this club you will have fun learning the art of skipping rope! We’ll get creative by trying new jump rope tricks, games, and relay races! 4-6 THURSDAY Arts & Crafts with Ms. Cullison: In this club you will explore drawing, painting, coloring, and building using a variety of supplies and artistic materials. Bring your creative energy and a smile! 1-3 Kindhearted Kids with Ms. Sanborn: Become a good citizen of strong character who cares for, respects, and appreciates people, animals, and the environment. 1-3 Rock Climbing with Ms. Cameron & Ms. Gonzalez: Work together to build trust and communication skills with fun games and fitness activities that lead to rock climbing. Sneakers required. 4-6 Board Games & Puzzles with Ms. Rogers: In this club you can learn and play popular board games including Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Yahtzee… You can even design your own board game! 4-6 FRIDAY Steam’d Up! with Ms. Cameron and Ms. Gonzalez: This club promotes imagination, creativity, and community spirit! Work together each week to complete fun station activities that allow you to 1-6 investigate and explore a variety of academic areas including; science, technology, engineering, art, math, social-emotional learning and physical activity. This will be a large group activity that will accommodate multiple ages and interests and provide opportunities for teamwork, leadership and making new friends. SPONSOR A CHILD PROGRAM Your tax-deductible donation will provide a child with the opportunity to participate in afterschool activities that are fun, help build social skills and improve academics! All participants receive a healthy snack, help with homework, enrichment activities and access to the late bus. $84.00 = 1 club (1 day per week for 12 weeks) To become a sponsor please contact the Program Director at Ossipee Central School. The School’s Out! Program serves approximately 200 students per year, approx. 70% of the Ossipee Central School population. Homework clubs are provided by grade level and staffed by certified teachers. Over 20 different enrichment offerings are available each quarter. Program participants continuously show improvement in academic achievement, homework completion and quality, self-esteem, social skills and character development. Select the site where your child will be dropped off and enter it on the enrollment form. In order for a child to be dropped off, a parent or other designee must be waiting at the stop. Contact the school or send a note if there is to be a change in plans at dismissal time. The person(s) picking children up are responsible for arriving on time to bus stops. Payment/Enrollment Information Students are enrolled on a “first come, first served” basis. You will receive a schedule as confirmation of your child’s enrollment. Please make your check or money order payable to: OCS, School’s Out! Write your child’s name and the current trimester on the check or envelope. Payments may be mailed or delivered to School’s Out! or the OCS Main Office. If you need to arrange a payment plan, contact the Program Director at OCS: 539-4589. Financial Assistance Financial Assistance is available through support from Ossipee Children’s Fund. A financial assistance application must be completed in order to be considered for a scholarship. Please submit completed applications to the Program Director. Sliding Scale Fees In order to help sustain this valuable program, trimester fees are charged. It is also required that we provide a sliding scale fee system for our families. We have designed our fee system to align with the free/reduced lunch program criteria. Fees are based on the school lunch program and charged per club for the entire trimester. Fees will not be adjusted in the event of an absence or cancellation. Families with multiple children receive a reduced rate to keep costs reasonable. FINANCIAL ALL STUDENTS ASSISTANCE IS QUALIFY FOR FREE AVAILABLE! After the second week all club fees must be paid, regardless of participation. Late Pick-Up Information Parents are expected to pick students up promptly at 5:15pm in the cafeteria. A $5.00 late fee may be charged.
