Who Are We?
The Community College at Wesley provide for a myriad of activities that occur outside normal school
hours. We offer a range of programs designed to support families, encourage individual learning and
provide positive outcomes for the Wesley and broader community.
These include:

• Before and After School Care (offered in partnership with Looked After - Extend)
• School Holiday Programs (offered in partnership with TeamKids)
• School Holiday Workshops
• Melbourne Gymnastics Centre (child and adult classes)
• Recreation and Fitness Club

• St Kilda Road Chapel
• St Kilda Road Adamson Theatre

Chess
Day & Time: Monday 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Group 1: Beginners
Group 2: Advanced
Cost: $170.00
Dates: 10 February - 23 March (excluding 9 March)
Location: Year 3 Classroom
Suitable Ages: Year 1 - Year 6
Kids Unlimited chess coaching staff will run
playful and lively lessons, sure to delight and
challenge players of all abilities. Gain the skills
of problem solving and strategic thinking whilst
learning sneaky traps and cunning plans all
through the fun of chess games. The class also
has opportunities for students to represent the
College at inter-school tournaments. There are
trophies and prizes to be won.

Gymnastics
Days & Time: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday
Dates: 29 January - 4 April
Location: Gymnasium
Waverley Gymnastics Centre offers fun and challenging gymnastics classes for primary school-aged
girls and boys of all abilities. All classes are taken by qualified and registered coaches, in a safe
and fun environment, and are designed
to increase coordination, flexibility and
fitness. Trial classes are available. Class

LCF Soccer Academy
Day & Time: Tuesday 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Dates: 11 February - 24 March
Cost: $190.00

Suitable Ages: Prep - Year 4
La Cantera Football Australia offer a professionally
delivered soccer program, available to all Wesley
students. Our sessions are designed to be fun,
engaging and positive learning experiences, where
players are taught both basic and advanced soccer
skills, including: passing, ball control, dribbling and
shooting.
Our updated curriculum focuses on the development
of individual technical ability within a group setting,
and is run by FFA/AFC C-License accredited and
experienced youth National Premier League coach,
Alejandro Osorio.

Multi-Sport Fun
Day & Time: Tuesday 3.30pm to 4.30pm

Location: Junior School Basketball Court
Suitable ages: Prep - Year 4
Have a sensational time with Kelly Sports this term. Kelly
Sports offer dynamic and active programs; sports covered
this term include basketball, AFL, hockey and crazy games.
This program will not only provide an essential base for your
child’s motor skills but help build awareness, coordination and
friendship all in an enjoyable environment.

Swimming Day & Time: Wednesday and Friday 3.45pm to 5.15pm Cost: $21.50 per lesson (term based enrolment) Dates: 29 January - 27 March Location: Kroger Swimming Pool Our learn to swim program consists of swimming and water safety, with dedicated, qualified and experienced instructors. Certificates are available for children as they complete each level and parents can discuss with the pool deck supervisor the progress of their child at anytime during the term. Coding & Robotics Program
Day & Time: Thursday 3.30pm to 4.30pm

Suitable ages: Year 1 - Year 2: Beginner Coding & Robotics
Year 3 - Year 6: Intermediate Coding & Robotics
This exciting digital technology program covers a breadth of coding,
robotics and technology outcomes. The program begins with
computational thinking, basic unplugged and screen-based coding
then progresses all the way through to advanced LEGO©Technik
robotics. Your child will experience a range of digital education
platforms using technologies such as mBot, iPad, Scratch, laptops,
LEGO© and more.

Sakamoto Maths Method (Private maths program)
Day & Time: Thursday 4.45pm to 6.45pm
Dates: 13 February - 26 March
Location: Middle School Classroom M16
Want to learn a new technique to solve maths questions? Or are you
game to pit your problem-solving skills with students from other parts
of the world?
The Sakamoto Method is an innovative and proven program used
by many students in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Indonesia,
Malaysia and many more. The method was developed by an experienced
Japanese educator, and has been around since 1975. This technique
has also helped students overcome challenging word problems and do
well in examinations.
In addition, there is an opportunity to participate in the annual Sakamoto
World Mathematics Competition to pit your competence level stand
among the top students across the Region.

Tennis

Suitable Ages: Prep - Year 4 (Year 5 and 6 students are also welcome)
XSOAR Perform is a peak performance company that delivers specialised tennis training programs
to empower young tennis players to “break boundaries” so they can unleash their true potential. The
program is designed to progressively build and accelerate the student’s technical and tactical skills
throughout the term and over the course of the year.
Children must wear sporting appropriate clothing,
footwear and hat. Limited spots are available. In
the event of extreme weather conditions, tennis
coaching will be conducted indoors in the Sports
Centre and children can be collected from there
instead.

At Kids Unlimited, we focus on incorporating martial arts skills into a holistic approach to self-defence
and personal development. Your child will practise the important life skills of respect, confidence, self-
control, discipline and dedication via the physical teachings of martial arts - self-defence, improving
motor skills, coordination and general fitness.
We also reinforce values that you will be teaching your children at home, such as self-respect, how
to avoid and deal with bullying and, most importantly, when to use their martial arts training.

Important Information
Enrolments
For all program dates, times or any additional information, please contact the Program
Coordinators.
Please ensure that you have registered your child before they attend any After School Classes. This
allows the provider adequate time to prepare staffing requirements.
• Soccer enrolments will be booked through the Community College via the enrolment form in this
brochure. Please complete the enrolment form and send it to
community@wesleycollege.edu.au
• Please contact the relevant Program Coodinator if you wish to enrol in any of the other After
School Classes listed
• Enrolments will only be accepted up until the third week of classes
• If your child attends two or more sessions, you will be charged for the whole term
Cancellations
No administration fee will apply to cancellations made prior to the start of term.
No refunds will be given once the program has begun.
Late pick up
All students who are not collected by their parents from their after school class will be taken to the
Aftercare program. As this is run by an external provider, Looked After (Extend), we encourage all
children to be registered with them, in the event you are late in collecting your child.
If your child needs to go to the Looked After (Extend) program, you will be charged the relevant fee
for the service.
