All-USA Academic Team The All-USA Academic Team recognizes high achieving college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. Twenty team members are named annually with each receiving a $5,000 scholarship, a total of $100,000 in scholarship awards. In addition to scholarships, team members are presented at the annual President’s Breakfast held during the American Association of Community Colleges Annual Convention. The program is sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa. Nominees to the All-USA Academic Team may also be considered for the Coca-Cola Academic Team, New Century Scholars Programs, and All-State Academic Teams when applicable. The Peggy & Jack Baskin Foundation The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation Scholarship seeks out bright, highly motivated, low-income women attending Cabrillo College, Hartnell College or Monterey Peninsula College with a strong potential for making a difference, including women who are re-entering the work force. Students apply through their respective community colleges, and the program provides one student from each participating college with up to $20,000 in scholarships over two years. Students must be enrolled in one of the aforementioned community colleges and dedicated to enrolling in and completing their junior and senior years of their college education at a University of California campus. Award decisions are made by the Board of Directors of the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation based on the recommendation of the president of the applicant’s community college. Pister Leadership Opportunity This scholarship is open to UC transfer-eligible students who: Prestigious $20,000 scholarship to attend UC Santa Cruz. • Show exceptional achievement through academic and extracurricular accomplishments despite adverse socioeconomic conditions; The Karl S. Community Foundation for Monterey County The Community Foundation for Monterey County is a design studio for philanthropy, working with hundreds of individuals, families and businesses to fulfill their philanthropic vision. They make grants to create healthy, safe, vibrant communities in Monterey County and beyond. The CFMC manages more than 55 named scholarship funds, with a total value of more than $8.2 million. Each year, these funds award over $1,400,000 for the benefit of about 375 students. Their scholarship funds are established by individuals, families, and businesses who recognize the value of education and want to extend a helping hand for upcoming college students. Many people start funds to memorialize a loved one or support students in a certain field of study. Others entrust the CFMC with the responsibility of finding and selecting students with the highest need and potential to succeed in higher education. Hartnell College Scholarship Program Hartnell scholarships are funded through the generosity of donors. Many of whom are local companies, organizations and alumni of Hartnell College, as well as community members willing to help their fellow Salinas Valley residents continue with their higher education. • Scholarship money is free money! • Hartnell offers scholarships for new, continuing and transfer students. • A single application places students in consideration for one or more scholarships. • Awards range from $500 to $5,000. • Applicants must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (exceptions are sometimes made). • Maintain enrollment in at least 9 units is also a requirement. • 2021-2022 General Scholarship Application will open soon, so keep an eye out on your Hartnell Gmail Account!
