iMED - For New International Students iMED is an interim basic health insurance designed to cover students during the MSP wait period or for the duration of one-term UBC exchange programs Coverage * Medical services for Automatically enrolled How to Apply sickness or injury upon course registration * Doctor visits * Hospital visits $225 (3 months) or Fees $315 (one-term) * Diagnostic, x-ray, and laboratory services * Ambulance services Administrated by David Cummings * Maternity coverage Insurance Services * Pre-existing conditions* imed@david-cummings.com * Special requirements apply 4
iMED - For Exchange Students One-term exchange students are covered as follows: • Winter Session Term 1 (September – December 2021): August 30, 2021 – January 2, 2022 • Winter Session Term 2 (January – April 2022): December 25, 2021 – April 29, 2022 One-term exchange students are students who have been approved by Go Global to study at UBC on an exchange program. 5
Global Campus Health Plan • Global Campus Health is a form of temporary health insurance coverage intended for those students who do not qualify for iMED insurance • Returning international students • Newly arrived domestic students who have been living abroad (Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents) Note: The Global Campus Health Plan is only available to students who are studying full-time To access the Global Campus Health Plan registration forms, type “Global Campus Health Plan Enrolment” in a search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.,) Pricing: • $2.22 per day for the registered student; plus • $2.22 per day per eligible dependent (spouse and/or dependent children) insured with the student • $30.00 minimum premium per policy 6
2021-2022 IMED APPROACH Students whose first ever UBC term is in the 2021-2022 Academic Year: • If you have been assessed the iMED fee, DCIS will AUTOMATICALLY email your iMED Card to your email address on record at UBC, approximately one month prior to the start of your first UBC term—or later depending on when you register for your first class. • You do NOT need to complete the Arrival Date Confirmation / Coverage Dates Change Form UNLESS you arrive in Canada in a Calendar Month AFTER the effective date shown on your iMED Card. 7
2020-2021 IMED APPROACH 1. Students whose first UBC term (virtual or on campus) was in the 2020-2021 Academic Year: i. To obtain your iMED Card you MUST confirm your date of arrival in CANADA by completing the Arrival Date Confirmation / Coverage Dates Change Form up to three weeks prior to your date of travel to Canada, or as soon as possible after your date of arrival ii. In order to retrieve these forms, please search “iMED Arrival Date Confirmation Form” in a search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.,) 2. Starting from 3 weeks prior or up to 3 weeks after your arrival in Canada, confirm your arrival date with DCIS and provide supporting documentation • Booked flight tickets • Boarding pass(es) • Study permit • Passport stamp • Landing documents 3. Receive your iMED card by email (if not, email imed@david-cummings.com ) Check if the iMED coverage period is correct 8
BC Medical Services Plan - MSP BC MSP is the government funded health plan coverage for basic (primary) health services. All eligible BC residents are required by law to enroll. Apply ASAP upon arriving in British Columbia How to Apply Note: You need to have a permanent mailing address (of at least 3 months) to receive your MSP card by mail $75 International Student Health Fee Fees (study permit holders) Students pay by themselves Coverage Province of British * Doctor visits Administrated by Columbia * Hospital visits Health Insurance BC * Diagnostic tests (x-rays, CT scans, blood work) 9

MEDICAL SERVICE PLAN (MSP) - The processing time of MSP Application is around 21 days. BC Care Card (MSP Card) will be mailed to your mail box. - How to pay for MSP? MSP is not billed by UBC, all international students in BC who are a resident of BC for 6 months or more each year require MSP coverage: you need to be responsible for paying your bill. MEDICAL SERVICE PLAN (MSP) - Coverage period Your MSP coverage expires when your study permit expires. For example: study permit expires on: Nov 30, 2022 MSP expiries on: Nov 30, 2022 - Manage your MSP Account * Extend your MSP when you get your new study permit. Please email or come to the GEO Office to get the help to extend your MSP. * Update your MSP account when you move; change your address * Enroll your family members 12

TELUS Health MyCare -- Continued Once you have received confirmation of your MSP coverage and BC Care Card number, please enter it into your Babylon by TELUS Health app to ensure you can continue having medical consultations at no cost. To do this, please follow the instructions below: Navigate to the “Me” tab → Clinical Records → Personal details → “Edit” button in top right corner → input your Care Card number in the “Medical ID” field. 18
