Scholarship Update: Week of March 6, 2023 Please remember to visit the AC Flora School Counseling Website for a list of ALL scholarships that are available. https://www.richlandone.org/site/Default.aspx?PageID=5323 Here are a few we thought you might be interested in: Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority 2023 Scholarship Program Eligibility: Graduating African-American Seniors in the Richland, Lexington, Newberry, and Fairfield County School Districts Applications will be screened based on financial need, GPA, SAT/ACT scores, the essay, recommendation forms, class rank, and honors/awards Must complete all portions of the application Scholarship categories include: 4 year College; Teenage Mothers; Best Essay Awards Award: (20) $1250 for 4 year college or university Apply: Found in the “Materials” tab in the “Scholarship Update” file of the Class of 2023 Schoology page or in the Counseling office on the scholarship wall Deadline: March 10, 2023 South Carolina State Fair Scholarship Eligibility: All applicants should: Applicant must be a full-time resident of South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high school or home school in South Carolina. Applicant must complete the online application form in its entirety. Applicant must attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo). Applicant must attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina. Clarity, proper grammar usage, set goals, and how you plan to give back/or pass on to your community in the future. Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing). Demonstrate a passion for technology. Demonstrate leadership at school or in the community. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Require financial assistance to attend college. Eligibility: Must be accepted to matriculate as a fill-time student in an accredited college or university offering academic programs leading to the baccalaureate degree. Must have a recommendation from his/her school counselor or principal. (Only 5 applications will be accepted from each high school.) Must be a person of good character, demonstrate leadership, have academic promise, and promise to make positive contributions as a mature citizen. Maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Award: (10) $1,500 (renewable for up to 4 years) Apply: AC Flora School Counseling Office and on Class of 2023 Schoology in Materials Under “Scholarship Updates” Deadline: March 24, 2023 1000 Dreams Scholarship Fund Eligibility: All women enrolled in a U.S. based institution – high school, college, university, graduate school, etc. – are able to apply regardless of citizenship. Must show proof of current enrollment in a United States based school. Fill out all application fields, submit two letters of recommendation, complete the essay portion and demonstrate financial need. Funds must be used the semester after they are awarded and cannot be deferred. Award Amount: Varies (This educational assistance can include needs such as, but not limited to: educational conferences, instructional programs related to creative or artistic pursuits, graduate exam application fees, and textbooks. Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship Eligibility: U.S. citizen Demonstrated financial need High school senior with a 2.5 or above GPA OR a freshman or a sophomore undergraduate student with a 2.5 or above GPA Current or planned 4-year degree enrollment in the following majors: o Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics Current or planned full-time attendance at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university Interest in a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college, other circumstances notwithstanding (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship) Award Amount: (200) $10,000 To Apply: https://www.lockheedmartin.com/en-us/who-we-are/communities/stem-education/lm- scholarship-program.html Deadline: March 31, 2023 Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship Scholarship Eligibility: U.S. citizen Be a high school senior OR high school graduate (or GED equivalent). Have not earned a bachelor’s degree prior to the 2023-2024 academic year. Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time or part-time (minimum 6 credit hours) at one of the following types of accredited institutions: vocational-technical school, trade school, two-year community college, or state college. Be pursuing an associate’s degree, credit-bearing certificate, or an industry- recognized credential, in one of the fields of study below, with an anticipated completion date no earlier than December 2023 and no later than June 2026. Fields of study include: Advanced Manufacturing, Computer and Informational Science, Engineering, Engineering technology, Mechanic and Repair Technologies (Note: If student’s Specific Major falls under one of the listed Fields of Study, but the student’s Specific Major is not listed, student is still eligible to apply. True Eye Expert Scholarship Eligibility: Students are encouraged to apply, regardless of major, academic standing (GPA) or socioeconomic status. Open to any college or university in the United States. There is no gender or demographic requirement for this scholarship. Eligible applicants must be U.S. residents currently registered at a U.S.-based college or university for the Fall of 2023. Complete all requirements to apply. To help us in selecting a recipient for the award, eligibility requirements include: 1. Academic excellence (transcript, including SAT and/or ACT scores required) 2. Recommendations from guidance counselor and two teachers 3. Extra-curricular activities involving athletic and non-athletic participation (must be an eligible high school participant on one or more athletic teams). 4. Enrolling female college freshman who plans to major in education. 5. A one-page essay (in the student’s handwriting) on the topic “Why I Want to Be a Teacher and Where I Envision Myself in the Teaching Field in Ten Years.” 6.
