                   Call to Worship

L: Rise, O people of God, rise in spirit to praise the
Lord!

A: Awake, my soul!

L: Rise, you who are weary with a heavy burden

Rise, you who are full of guilt and shame

Rise, you who are glad and full of light

Rise, you who have much to give

Rise, you who are at your wit’s end.

A: Awake, my soul!

L: Rise, you who are alone, and sing, for the Lord
hears you when others do not

Rise, you who are not alone, and give thanks to
your provider

Rise, you who come with strong faith and you who
are hanging on to Jesus by a thread

A: Awake, my soul!
Order of Worship
L: Rise, everyone, and know that the God who
made heaven and earth, and intricately formed
your precious life, is here and is there where you
are.

A: Awake, my soul!

L: O people of God, rise in spirit to praise our Lord
and King,

To give yourself fully to the one who will keep us
for all eternity.

Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing

Come Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart
to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of
loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming
tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of
God’s unchanging love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer; Hither by Thy help I’ve
come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive
at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from
the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His
precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor, Daily I’m
constrained to be!
Let that grace now like a fetter, Bind my wandering
heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the
God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy
courts above.
Order of Worship
Father God who art in heaven, holy is thy precious
name.
May your kingdom be forever in our hearts as in
your frame.
Teach our hearts to love their healer, teach our
hands to serve their king.
Keep us safe from all temptation till we all in glory
sing.

             Confession And Assurance

Confession of Sin (Psalm 139:23-24)

All: Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts!

And see if there be any grievous way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting!

Assurance of Pardon (1 John 1:9 & Psalm 32:10-11)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast
love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. Be
glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and
shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

            Break Forth O Joyful Heart

Twas Jesus sought my wand’ring soul,
And with a shepherd’s care
He brought me kindly to His fold,
And still protects me there.

Break forth, O joyful heart
Break forth and no more silent be;
Break forth, in grateful praise
To Him who came to ransom me.

He is my advocate with God,
My Savior and my friend,
His mercies new with every morn
Like healing showers descend.

Break forth, O joyful heart
Break forth and no more silent be;
Break forth, in grateful praise
To Him who came to ransom me.

My soul shall magnify the Lord,
My voice His love proclaim,
And every power within me join
To bless and praise His name.

Break forth, O joyful heart
Break forth and no more silent be;
Break forth, in grateful praise
To Him who came to ransom me.

                Election Of Officers

                 Sermon: “Calling”
                 Rev. Hugh Barlett
                   Genesis 17:1-8

1
When Abram was ninety-nine years old
the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am
God Almighty; walk before me, and
be blameless, 2 that I may make my covenant
between me and you, and may multiply you
greatly.” 3 Then Abram fell on his face. And God
said to him, 4 “Behold, my covenant is with you,
and you shall be the father of a multitude of
nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called
Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have
made you the father of a multitude of nations. 6 I
will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will
make you into nations, and kings shall come from
you. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me
and you and your offspring after you throughout
their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be
God to you and to your offspring after you. 8 And I
will give to you and to your offspring after you the
land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for
an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”

                      By Faith

By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation's grand design
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness
Who walk by faith and not by sight

By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the pow'r of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God's own hand
A place where peace and justice reign

We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul's
       reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We'll walk by faith and not by sight

By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear
With the pow'r to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave

By faith the church was called to go
In the pow'r of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In ev'ry corner of the earth
Order of Worship
We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul's
       reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We'll walk by faith and not by sight

By faith the mountain shall be moved
And the pow'r of the gospel shall prevail
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His name

We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul's
       reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We'll walk by faith and not by sight
