9- SAIL WITH CARE L’esprit du RIPAM : «Le comportement des navires doit traduire clairement ses intentions de manière à éviter l’abordage». The spirit of the COLREGS : « Ships must clearly indicate their intentions so as to avoid collision. ». RIPAM – Régle 7 : Quand il y a un doute, il faut considérer qu’il y a un risque d’abordage et donc manœuvrer. COLREG Rule 7 : If there is any possibility of collision, manoeuver immediately to avoid it. 17
9- SAIL WITH CARE Voie de montante et descendante : Prendre contact avec le navire de commerce sur canal VHF 16 (ou sur canal 13 dans le DST uniquement). En cas de doute, appeler « JOBOURG TRAFFIC » afin de relayer l’information et effectuer l’anti-collision si il y a un risque d’abordage. TSS- Traffic System - Rule 7 : Contact the VHF Channel 16 commercial vessel (or channel 13 in the DST only). If in doubt, call "JOBOURG TRAFFIC" to relay the information in order to perform the anticollision. 9- SAIL WITH CARE ZNC Zone de Navigation Cotière – Règle 10 : Les voiliers sont autorisés à naviguer en ZNC à l’exception des navires à moteur de plus de 20 mètres sauf les navires à destination des ports des îles anglo-normandes. ITZ- Inshore Traffic Zone - Rule 10 : Sailing vessels are allowed to sail in ITZ except for motor vessels over 20 meters with the exception of ships bound for the port Channel Islands. 19
