RHINO REPORT December 10th, 2018 Justice Page Middle School Minneapolis, MN Volume 4 No. 4 Justice Alan Page Medal of Freedom Celebration BY: JPMS Community “Recognition for the things you’ve done is a good thing but it shouldn’t change who you are. Fame and recognition. They are not who you are. It’s what you do and how you do it and what you do with the recognition that really matters. I’m not better than anyone else just because I’ve been recognized. I do the things that all people do. I’m a person just like each one of you. The fact that I have this medal, it puts me in a better position to better advocate for the things I believe in. Such as, education and you.” - Justice Alan Page

Former President Passes Away BY: Anna Manson Tragically, on November 30th, the 41st president of the United States, George H. W. Bush, passed away at the age of 94 in Houston, Texas. He had a form of Parkinson’s disease that had put him in a wheelchair for a few years. But he was strong, and told people to “put the harps back in the closet” in 2013. Bush was a Republican who served one term in the office, from 1989 to 1993, although he also served as Vice President from 1981 to 1989 prior to his time as President. His eldest son, George W. Bush, became president in 2001. At eighteen years old, George H. W. Bush served in the U.S. Navy as an aviator until September 1945, when he went to Yale University. From there, he went on to work in the oil business, eventually founding his own company. Soon after, he became engaged in politics. He was defeated in his election running for U.S. senator, but after another election, became part of the House of Representatives in 1966. He was re-elected in 1968, but was defeated again in an election for the Senate in 1970. He ran for president in 1980 but was unsuccessful. Ronald Reagan became president instead. Finally, after waiting eight more years, in 1988, George Bush became the President of the United States. During his single term, he launched military operations against Panama and Iraq, signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and signed a bill to raise taxes. He lost his second term election to Bill Clinton in 1992. He was honored with a state funeral at Washington’s National Cathedral on Wednesday, December 5th. The date was also declared a national holiday to remember Gorge H. W. Bush. At his funeral, along with his family and friends, former presidents Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, current president Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, attended. George H. W. Bush will always be remembered as a successful president and a great man. Which is Better: Apple or Samsung? BY: Oskar Eilefson Apple came out with the new Apple iPhone X, and Samsung [released the] Note 9. The benefits of the iPhone x are it has face ID, and you can play Fortnite on it. Samsung is smart because they paired with Fortnite and got a cool “galaxy skin,” so more people bought the Samsung than Apple because billions of Fortnite players wanted the skin. The Samsung does not have email, so you might have a problem there. Also, Apple has better emojis. And last but not least, the pen. The Samsung note 9 pen is very cool, and you can take pictures with it and open google assistant with it. Those were just a couple of things you can do with the pen, there are many more that, though. Which do you think is better, Samsung or Apple?
Season 7 BY: Oskar Eilefson If you are reading this right now, it will probably be season 7 already, so don’t hate on me. Season 7 is going to obviously be snow/christmas, so we could expect a snowy change to the map. Also, we got a teaser of a snowy monster and a person who looks like he’s snowboarding or skating of some sort. If you go to Flush Factory, you can see a storm cloud coming towards the map. Also, with the addition of the Fortnite skin a.i.m., we see that his feet and some of his hands are icy, and it looks like he came from somewhere cold. Last but not least there is an iceberg that you can see in replay mode, and you can see a castle with the lights on. That’s it for this week, and if you get any info on season 7, just let me know. #FORTNITESEASON7 LISTS!!!
