Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021 Plan for Living with COVID-19 1. COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS The need for full compliance on the current level of local restrictions FUNDAMENTAL under the ‘Plan for Living with Covid-19’ to ensure sailing, windsurfing PRINCIPLES & powerboating remains a ‘low risk’ activity FOR DECISION TO GO AFLOAT 2. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY Take personal responsibility for your own risk and decision making 3. SELF HELP Ensure that you have the means to return to shore without assistance (alternative means of propulsion) in the event of the unexpected in non-distress situations 4. RISK ASSESSMENT Individual and Activity Organisers to assess the risks associated with the conditions, equipment, experience of sailors, sailing area, and risk of virus spread, before making the decision to go afloat www.sailing.ie/coronavirus
Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021 Plan for Living with COVID-19 LEVEL 1 Basis under Government Plan Impact on Irish Sailing Activity for Reopening Society and Business Organised indoor gatherings These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager These restrictions apply to non-physical activity indoors eg in a sailing context; social winter talks, prizegivings etc… For most venues, a maximum of 100 patrons can attend Up to 200 patrons are allowed for larger venues where strict 2 metre seated social distancing and one-way controls for entry and exit can be implemented Organised outdoor gatherings These are controlled environments with a named event organiser, owner or manager For most venues, a maximum of 200 patrons can attend gatherings ashore Boats on the water are considered as self contained units independent of each other.
