Connecting Startup Cities (CSC) I: May 14 • The CSC was opened by the Permanent Secretary of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises Christian Rickerts • CSC developed specific fields of innovation in keynotes, panels and workshops in order to produce innovative solutions in cooperation between the startup ecosystems of Germany and Asia. Corporates meet Startups: May 16 Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG Cedrik Neike invited together with the Berlin Senate to the first dialogue of German companies with startups from Asia and Berlin in the new Startup Space A32 in Siemensstadt. In cooperation with 12
“The Good Times” StartUp AsiaBerlin (SUAB) Program: Scaling internationally: May 16 ● StartUp AsiaBerlin invited to a dialogue about growing business in Asia and Europe with familiar and new faces from the SUAB network! ● enpact and the Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy (BEKRAF) have signed a MoU startup cooperation between both countries. Female Entrepreneurship in Berlin and India (FEBI) I: Within SUAB, the FEBI project supports the development of women-led companies through networking, training, and delegation trips. The project brings together female startup founders and support institutions (such as accelerators, incubators, and NGOs) for programs and delegation trips to India and Berlin. In cooperation with 14
Female Entrepreneurship in Berlin and India (FEBI) II ● With two delegations of female founders and programs from India, the APW was a great chance for training, connecting and cooperation, gathering multiple stakeholders that are bridging German and Asian startup ecosystems. Among the highlights of the week was Ayushi Mishra, founder of DronaMaps, winning the pitch competition at the Connecting Startup Cities Conference. ● For more information about FEBI, please click here. Blockchain Summit & Hackathon: May 17 – 19 ● The Blockchain Summit focused on current Blockchain trends, including investment, Blockchain adoption and secured custody in Asia and Germany. LongHash hosted the Blockchain Summit on May 17 in the newly opened Betahaus Neukölln, followed by a Hackathon on May 18 & 19. ● For more information, please click here or watch the recap video. VC – Program: May 13-17, 2019 We gave Asian investors (VCs and business angels) insights into the German capital as a top startup hub in Europe and connected them with the Berlin startup ecosystem. This program included the highlights of the APW and meetings with founders, venture partners, Company builders, incubators and accelerators and much more … In cooperation with 17
VIP Boat-Trip: May 15 Asian investors and key players in the Berlin and Asian startup ecosystem set sail on the Spree and had a chance to connect during an exclusive VIP trip on a boat In cooperation with 18
Cultural program In addition to the conference program, Berlin‘s cultural institutions complemented and enriched the APW program by presenting specific aspects of the Asia-Pacific region in terms of culture and society. Organizers included museums, galleries, Asian cultural centers in Berlin, foundations and associations, and science and education institutions. In cooperation with 19
