NEW ZEALAND DERMATOLOGICAL SOCIETY 2022 ANNUAL CONFERENCE Hilton Hotel | Auckland | 17 - 20 August 2022 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Prof. Chris Bunker MA MD FRCP AGM Consultant Dermatologist, University College and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals, London Professor of Dermatology, University College and Imperial College, London, UK Chris Bunker was educated at St Catharine’s College Cambridge and Westminter Medical School, London. He trained in general medicine in Oxford and London and in Dermatology in London with Gerald Levene and Pauline Dowd. He has 30 years’ experience as a Consultant. He has trained approximately 150 other Consultants and taught thousands of medical students. His interests include male genital dermatoses, complex medical and inpatient Dermatology, melanoma, and HIV Dermatology. He has published ~400 items (h-index 43) and according to Google Scholar is the sixth most cited British Dermatologist. Amongst several honours he is most proud of two: the Cambridge University Sir Walter Langdon-Brown prize for his MD thesis (1990) and the Sir Archibald Gray Medal by the British Association of Dermatologists (2019) - its ultimate accolade for outstanding lifetime contributions to Dermatology. Prof. Bunker is a Past-President of the British Association of Dermatologists (2012-14) and currently the Secretary of the British Skin Foundation (2015-). Prof. Firas Al-Niaimi NZDS Professor Firas Al-Niaimi is a highly experienced and skilled consultant dermatologist, Mohs and laser expert with nearly 20 years’ experience and an international standing trained in some of the UK’s top hospitals and fellowship-trained in dermatologic surgery and lasers at St. Thomas’ hospital in London where he continued to work there as an honorary consultant for a number of years before moving to fulltime private practice. His passion for education, research and science has led him to publish over 220 publications in Dermatology and lasers including his own published book and 10 book chapters making him one of the most prolific and well-published consultant dermatologists in the UK. In addition to this he has delivered more than 500 scientific presentations in 58 countries around the world including keynote lectures at prestigious international conferences. His contribution to British dermatology was such that in 2019 he was awarded the “Global excellence award” for the title of consultant Dermatologist of the year in London and won this award for the second time in 2022. His success culminated in 2021 when he became a professor making him the UK’s first and only professor in the field of laser dermatology. Dr Adriene Lee Dr Adriene Lee is the President-elect and a Director of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and immediate past Dean of Education. She has chaired the Audit and Risk Committee, Academic Standards Committee, Specialist Training Taskforce and National Training Committee. She is a visiting dermatologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne where she chairs the Complex Skin Tumour MultiDisciplinary Meeting, Skin Health Institute where she conducts both general and occupational contact dermatitis clinics, and the North West Regional Health Service in Burnie, Tasmania. She is in private practice at North Western Dermatology in Melbourne and has an interest in medical dermatology, education and training and contact dermatitis. She has published articles and authored book chapters mainly in the field of contact dermatitis Dr Simon Lee Dr Simon Lee has been working as a dermatologist for nearly twenty years and is currently working full time as a Mohs surgeon. He is the Director of Training for the Mohs surgical fellowship, Head of Education and is a board member at The Skin Hospital in Sydney. Simon is also the chief examiner in procedural dermatology and member of the National Examination Committee for the Australasian College of Dermatology and leads national surgical training workshops for the registrars. Largely focused on surgical management of difficult tumours using Mohs microscopically controlled surgery, Simon is also involved in the management of difficult in situ melanomas involving the head and neck region.
