RAJIV GANDHI ACADEMY FOR AVIATION TECHNOLOGY THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, KERALA (A Government of Kerala Institution) PROSPECTUS 2019-2020 Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, a Government of Kerala institution, was originally incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 by name Kerala Flying Club, which was formally inaugurated on 16 Sep. 1959. The name was later changed to Kerala Aviation Training Centre in 1980. In 1981, the Government of Kerala took over the institution under its control. Subsequently, a Memorandum of Association was approved by the Annual General Meeting of Kerala Aviation Training Centre which brought all the assets and liabilities including employees under the Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, a Society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 with effect from 1 June 2006. This Academy is now functioning as a government undertaking with grant-in-aid from the Govt. Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology has been setup by the Government of Keralato provide quality training to young aspirant pilots who wish to become future professionals in the booming aviation sector. It is mainly intended to create dynamic young talents in aviation field, to build our national strength by enhancing their skills and attitudes, and equipping them to serve the competitive aviation industry worldwide. Thiruvananthapuram is the southernmost district of Kerala and the airport in the state capital is one of thefour International airports in the state. Thiruvananthapuram is also the headquarters of the Southern Air Command. An Engineering Base of Air India is built in Trivandrum Airport. Thus Thiruvananthapuram provides an ideal environment for flying training. As a cosmopolitan city, it provides all modern amenities and is well connected by air, rail and road.

Your aspirations to rule the sky could be achieved at Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, the pioneer flying training institution in South India. Alumni of the Academy are already ruling the Indian skies as pilots in national carriers and private airlines. The Academy offers ab-initio CPL Course for issue of CPL with Instrument Rating (IR). 2. Shortlisted candidates will be considered for admission based on final merit list in batches startingtentatively fromJuly / August 2019. 4. Medical : Selected candidates may join with Class II Medical. However, they will have to clear and submit Class – I Medical Fitness Certificate subsequently. Training fee : Demand Draft for Rs. 7,00,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakh only) in favour of the Executive Vice Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, Thiruvananthapuram (Payable at Thiruvananthapuram)to be submitted at the time of joining as 1stinstallment. Break up: Amt. (Rs.) 6. Selection : Selection process will be based on either (a) and (b) below or (b) alone as the case may be. Written Test :At allotted centre which will be intimated in due course a) Syllabus for Written Test : General English, Maths, Physics, Geography, Reasoning (IQ), General Aviation (10 + 2 level - objective type questions only) Qualifying Marks in Written Test : The cut off marks for SC/ST candidates will be 5 % less than the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General Category. b) Interview/Viva : Date will be intimated in due course All short listed candidates will be required to produce the following documents in original as well as one attested photocopy of each document at the time of interview : i) Proof of Date of Birth (such as 10th Class Certificate) ii) 10th Mark sheet iii) 10 + 2 Mark sheet iv) Caste Certificate for SC/ST Candidates v) Police Clearance Certificate issued by an officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police. vi) 20 passport size colour photos with white background. 7. How to apply : Applications are to be downloaded from the Academy web site. Dully filed application along with prescribed fee and documents required may be sent to the Academy via post. 8. Application Fee : Application fee is Rs.2,000/- for General and OBC candidates. For SC/ST candidates application fee is Rs. 700/-. Candidates should download the application form from the web site and should submit completed application form along with the Demand Draft as per notification in favour of the " Executive Vice Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Academy for Aviation Technology, Thiruvananthapuram" payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Applications received without the Demand Draft will not be considered. 3. Enclose two recent passport size photographs of the candidate along with the completed application form. 4. The Name and Date of Birth of the candidate are to be entered on the reverse of the demand draft and enclosed photographs. 5. Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date will be rejected. 6. If any information given above is found to be incorrect at a later stage, the candidate’s flying training may be terminated and fees paid (if any) will not be refunded. I further agree that in consideration of my being permitted to fly whether as Pilot Trainee or Passenger in any aircraft owned or operated by the Academy, I indemnify and declare the Academy, its servants and agents, against any claim whether on behalf of myself my estate or my dependant, for loss or damage of whatsoever nature sustained during or in connection with any such flying, howsoever such loss or damage may arise. 3.
