Dr. Ann D. Bieber President’s Desk September 2021 Clifford Miller Student Services Center Dedicated On Tuesday, Aug. 17, employees and guests gathered for the unveiling of the portrait of Clifford Miller and the formal dedication of the Clifford Miller Student Services Center in recognition of Miller’s nearly $1 million gift to the college and the LCCC Foundation. Speakers at the ceremony included LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber; chair of the Board of Trustees Ann Thompson; James DePietro, professor and Technology coordinator; and Charles Glasser, former LCCC faculty member. Miller, one of the first professors hired to teach at LCCC, donated the gift to be used for scholarships for students studying technology. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963 and his master’s of education from Temple University in 1966. He taught mechanical drafting at William Allen High School from 1958 to 1968, before joining the faculty at LCCC to teach mechanical technology. He retired in 1987 and was named professor emeritus in 1999. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 97.
