Pravara Medical Trust •The Pravara Medical Trust is the parent Organization of the University and was established in 1972 in a small village Loni of Ahmednagar District (Maharashtra State) by a visionary Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, the founder of Co-operative movement in India. •Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University was established under Section (3) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956 in 2003 (notification No. F.9-11/2000-U-3).

Initiation of English Medium in Rural Area • During the 50’s and early 60’s, rural children were sorely deprived of quality education through English medium, which was then available only to the urban elite. Padmashri drew up an action plan for “Operation Blackboard’ to empower the children of the farming community not only for the sustainable growth and development but also enabling them to take their right place in steering the destiny of the country itself. • Today Loni-Pravaranagar boasts five English Medium Schools, namely Pravara Public School, Pravara Central Public School, Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Sainik School, Pravara Girls English Medium School and Pravara High School, Kolhar .
