Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic. It dominates the country as a business, cultural, educational, tourist and cosmopolitan centre. The historical centre of Prague is UNESCO protected and represents the biggest compact historical centre globally. The commercial and retail centre of Prague is in the historic central area on the right side of to the River Vltava. It is an attractive market for international retailers, particularly Prague’s high street. The district of Prague 1, where high street retail is concentrated, is defined by the area bounded by Parizska street and Palladium shopping centre to the north, and My Narodni department store and Wenceslas Square to the south. The prime area comprises some 700 units, together with over 500 units in secondary locations, equating to an estimated high street floorspace of 250,000 sqm. PRAGUE RETAIL WAREHOUSING/ BIG-BOX RETAIL The Prague retail warehouse market is split into 3 main zones. On the west is Homepark Zlicin with Tesco and IKEA anchoring the scheme.
